Great product
I was looking for something with minimal VOC/offgassing/odors, that would still protect my wood. I've got 2 little kids, so I'm the typical paranoid parent. After reading the other reviews, I was careful to apply the gloss, then the satin. It worked well. There were some odors. They didn't bother me, but my wife is sensitive to that stuff and she says it gave her a headache. But the odor was not near as bad as the stuff I bought at the hardware store, and the odor went away pretty quickly. It's only been 3 months, but the seal seems to be holding up well. I'm very satisfied.

Not worth it!!
I recently used this product and have nothing but regrets and a bad finish to show for it. I applied per the directions and even called the manufacture to make sure i was applying this finish correctly in my climate and it still failed miserably. The majority of the time i have projects in my home or for a client i will make the green choice, weather it is a chemical or a material and this one i regret quite a bit.I mixed the product as recommended, and then some, and it never properly mixed causing staining when i poured the product on the floor. After applying 5 coats and letting it cure, the floor scratched if you looked at it the wrong way. I now must debate how long i wait till i do it again with another product before it damages the wood beneath. I often test products out on my own home before i use it on a clients, and i am glad it was my house and not a clients!I would like to add that i have seen bad reviews of products in the past and i went ahead and used them with success, but this instance will make me much more critical in the future. Thanks AFM

Great in all ways but one
Everything came on time, well packed, and not damaged. However, for a Green Product, I was surprised to find styrofoam peanuts in the box, lots of them. I recommend to the shipper to use biodegradable packing peanuts, or other sustainable packing, readily available everywhere these days. Otherwise, all good. Order with confidence.

Easy to use. No smell.
Love this product, very easy to use. Takes a good 24 hours to dry. It seems dry after a couple but give it 24 hours.

Lasted a long time
We used Polyuraseal BP to seal our maple hardwood floors and maple cabinets 16 years ago. I am chemically sensitive so I was looking for a product that was low odor, low VOC. The product does have some odor, but not bad. I used it to finish our kitchen cabinets and was able to tolerate the odor while applying it. It was extremely easy to apply. I just used a sponge brush and applied it to the cabinets, let it dry and applied 2 more coats. We hired a profesional to do the floors. He had never used a low VOC product before and so was leery that it might not come out good, but he was pleasantly surprised that it was very easy and came out good. The manufacturer recommends using the gloss for the first few coats and the matte or semi gloss for the top coat. I believe we were also told to give the floor a light sanding before applying the top coat because the water based finishes will raise the grain on the wood and the light sanding will smooth it out.The product has held up well over the years even though we are rough on our floors. First of all we live in the country so we are always tracking in sand and mud. Also we have dogs and cats which are always running around the room and tracking in dirt, and of course our kids are always spilling things. The floors looked good for about the first 12 years, but since then we have gotten some scratches and discoloration in the high traffic areas, so now it is time to refinish again. From talking with flooring professionals it seems like the average for floor finishes to hold up is about 10 years or less, even for the ones with VOC's. So, I think the Polyuraseal BP did pretty good. Now days there are a lot of new products on the market that claim to be low or no VOC. Even though I did ok when I applied the product years ago- it still had some odor. Even if the odor is mild and not toxic, I still would prefer "no odor." So I am looking into other brands, but not sure if they work as well, so I'm not sure yet. One product I read about that is supposed to have no VOC and no odor is "Ecos Woodshield Interior Varnish." But, again not sure if it holds up well or not. I will write an update after we do our floors and let you know what we decided and how it worked out.

Love it!
I've been a woodworker for 30+ years and had been using your typical lacquer based finishes, staying away from the water based finshes due mostly to drying time. But after being introduced to AFM's finishes, Poly BP being my favorite, I will NEVER go back to lacquer based again. Drying time is no longer an issue and the finish is every bit as good and durable as possible. Of course there is an odor for a time as the material dries but what you are smelling is not the toxic VOC's that lacquer puts out. I highly recommend this product to anyone who does finished woodworking. The product should not require "mixing", just be careful to check that the product is not outdated.
