We had a paper bag sized (wax coated) bag with handles for our recyclables in our kitchen (from the Container Store). Although cute enough, we were taking out the recyclables every few days. This plastic bin fits nicely in a small kitchen corner, out of the walkway. We are making a lot less trips outside now! We line the bin with 13 gallon garbage liners + carry just the liner outside. (You wouldn't have to do it this way.) Like the recycling logo on it--guests will know what it's for without needing to ask.

Works as described. Good product. I use it as a garbage in my kitchen.

If you are looking for a container to store large bags of dog food (I believe 44 pounds) this can hold the entire bag perfectly. However, the lid isn't attached and comes off easy. Our dog is older and can't jump to get to the goodies.But, it tucks the food away nicely and good value for the price..The can is a bit shorter than the ones we have in our kitchen, so size wise they may have shrunk the cans a little. I am basing that on my kitchen cans as "standard" which is a guess.
