Bought one for my girlfriend and was too large. Here are some tips.
Edit 2/16. While over at my girlfriends place, we were looking for some unused clothing to wear to microbiology class (college course). We took out the lab coat from the corner we left it and decided to try it on. While she was checking out oversized lab coat in the mirror, I saw two strips of cloth hanging from the waist area of the lab coat. Curious, I tied it together and voilà the baggy and oversized lab coat was transformed instantly into something that can be described as sexy and professional attire. My girlfriend fell in love with it without fail and long story short, now she wears her old work lab coat to class instead of this new lab coat we almost threw out. Tldr; remember to tie the waist band behind the coat. --- Bought this for my girlfriend and first reaction was that it's too large. However the quality is great, and three pockets was good because her last lab coat only had one. On the issue of size, my girlfriend is size 7, about 5' 6" and 110 lbs and a size small was way too big. If I could reorder I would make it an extra small. Hopefully she won't kill me for putting this info up here but please use it to help make a purchase if you do.

Exceeded Expectations
Fit nice. I’m a 5’5” 130lb female, and the medium fits comfortably. Not too tight or too loose. Not to cool or too warm. Not too short or too long. It’s just right. Has a strip of material connected by two buttons in the back to give it some added quality and appear a bit more flattering. The material seems good, sturdy, and slightly soft quality. It has a faint smell to it, but nothing too noticeable or off putting, and I’m sure it will go away after a few more washes. All in all, this is what I needed. It will last. It will protect me. And according to my 9 year old daughter, it will make me look like the female version of Professor Utonium in the Powerpuff Girls.

Simple cheap lab coat
Cheap lab coat. I bought this to wear as a liner for my winter jacket so I wouldn't transfer hospital crud onto it after a shift. The material is a bit stiff and a bit rough. I bought a size small. It fits me in the shoulders but the sleeves are far too big and the body is looser than I'd like. I'm 5'4" and 125 lbs. My shoulders are a size 8 and my waist is a size 6. It does have a belt with a button you can adjust in the back to trim the waist but it doesn't do much, and the ends of the fabric hanging over each other are unsightly. So while it's fine for my purposes, I wouldn't wear this as part of a medical professional's uniform.

Fits great
Nice fit, no weird smell when it arrived. A little speedy but worth the quality. It has a slight stretch. Only hang drive to prevent shrinkage.

An XS should have either fit perfect or been snug fitting
I wore it for a Rick and Morty costume. It worked well. I'm S-M in tee shirts but after reading some previous reviews, I ordered the XS in this and it fit about right. Just a heads up, they run a little large. An XS should have either fit perfect or been snug fitting. This was more than big enough. Just saying', maybe consider erring on the small side than large if you're not sure which size you are. If I was wearing this in clinic while practicing, it would appear to be a little large on me, but for the purpose of being "Tiny Rick" for halloween, it worked perfect for making me look the character part. I'm 5'5 and 115# if that helps anyone size me up to consider comparison.

It’s okay!
It’s great for any lab! It was perfect and very useful to me but my only issues were the lil strand in the back wasn’t able to be adjusted to snatch the waist so it just kind of sat there sagging and the proportions were a bit odd in places. However, it is great and low price to use!

For fellow petites, get an XXS
Great fit! I'm quite petite, I'm about 4'10-4'11 and slim. I'm going to use this for my chemistry and biology labs. I was amazed at how the fit is so well. The bottom of the coat was above my knees, the arms were bit too wide (as expected) but you can tuck them and roll them up for a better fit. The material, I would say, is somewhat thin but not too thin. There were no weird stains or discoloration. I looked at the sewing and it was well done, but there were a few random pieces of thread that you had to cut. Overall, this is a great product for the price. I highly recommend.

Basic
This product was an amazing purchase for the price. However, be mindful that it isn't fire-resistant (not to my knwoledge). That is a very useful note to keep in mind if you work in a lab.
