Solid Rack, stable, heavy-ish.
Needed the +2 for a gravel race 1k miles away. The extension comes unassembled which was unexpected as I watched a video ahead of time. A friend, a bakeshop owner, has a different brand and his +2 was an absolute nightmare to install - and he has loads of rack experience. So the Kuat video I saw made it look SO easy. Well...I was surprised a few days before my trip to find a box full of pieces. The assembly was pretty straight forward and easy enough for one person. Once together, installing the +2 on the existing rack was crazy easy. Just unbolt and pop the end cap (I already have the bike stand off), slide the +2 on, make sure the 2 long bolts are popped past the dross bolts so they engage into the lower section, and tighten. Then bolt the top cap back on the new section and done.Be prepared though, the double is pretty light but the 4 becomes a bit heavy. You can still angle the rack down and up when loaded with 4 bikes (well, gravel race bikes aren't terribly heavy) with two people. And sticking out that far I spent the $30ish and picked up a set of CURT 53201 Auxiliary Automotive LED Lights Strips on Amazon (they are plug and play) for added safety (see pic).Oh, I gave the lock feature only 3 stars because cable locks are essentially useless if someone wants your stuff. Kuat's setup is great, cables are just too easy to snip through. I carry a massive 10' case hardened steel chain with appropriate lock when I need to secure the bikes. At least that'll take 30 minutes to grind through.

Best rack ever.
Easiest rack to load bikes on, ever!Tilts down easily to open trunk.Tilts up (without bikes) to get out of the way.Keeps bikes securely anchored, safe for carbon frames.Integrated bike locks are great. The bike repair stand is just over the top, but yes, I used it and it's fantastic too.Solidly constructed. This is the best bike rack I have ever used, by far.

great add on for another 2 e-bikes. Customer service was awesome
this is a well-built bike rack it has locking cables incorporated into the frame. Easy Instructions to follow. I had some questions, so I called the manufacturer. They were easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Heavy duty racks. Great design easy to use. when not in use the flip up out of your way

Expensive …but Good!
We purchased the original rack because we needed to transport one e-bike, and this extension to facilitate couple rides with others. This rack system is super heavy but rock solid stable in protecting your investment in a bike. Easy to load the bikes. With the extension, two people best for putting the rack in the car. Easy to add extension with two. Possible alone but it is work.

Great Quality and looks but mainly holds your bikes securely
Clearly one of the best racks. Works great 5 star : sturdy design, secures bike nicely, good spacing off the back for bumper folded up and tailgate clearance when folded down (bikes installed), integrated locks, simple wheel clamps/brackets, cosmetics, Trail Doc is cool.Minus 1 star for: no scuff bar/protection for hitch cam knob (can easily drag on the street when backing down driveways); the lever to unlock /tilt the rack is nice but HARD to reach with bikes installed esp. 4 bikes. Need remote latch handle like Thule and 1 Up. Trail doc is cool but kinda flimsy.

Easy to assemble. Doubles your carrying capacity and not too heavy to remove from vehicle.
I have owned the NV 2.0 for over a year now and have brought a 3rd bike in the back seat with much effort to remove wheels and get gear in etc. I am single, however, I like to ride more than one kind of bike on an outing and also have my son who visits from time to time. That being said I wanted this ad on for some time but was wondering if it would be worth the investment.Well let me tell you it is! It came very well packaged and assembled in a very short amount of time. I had already ridden the day that I assembled it so I was eager to try it out the following day. The first bike to load is an older downhill bike that weighs every bit of the 50 lb per bike weight limit. Then a fat tire bike and a road converted mountain bike. I knew I had made the right decision to but the ad on the moment I had to decide which bikes (plural) extra to bring! I realize that everyone might not want to a=carry more than one bike if you are riding solo so if you simply need to carry three or four bikes for you and your crew this is the way to go.As other have stated it ads some to the weight when loading and unloading it from the hitch, however, I found it to be a nominal amount. The cable locks for the rear (the add on) are keyed differently as stated, however, no problems and it came with 4 keys. Also included is one fat bike kit and if you call the manufacturer they will ship you another at no cost. Helpful as I have many fat bikes.I was grinning all the way to the trail and back home. Handles rough back roads and the interstate at speed with ease. Very glad to have made the purchase. Comes with every tool needed for assembly.GOD BLESSjohn

The best platform rack that you can get it
Great quality and well designed. It's expensive but it will be the last rack that you need to buy. It's heavy to move around.

Everything you love, but 50% more
It’s a no brainer if you already have a Kuat NV 2. I moved to carrying 4 bikes in back after adding a roof top tent. The same reason the Kuat works so well applies to the extension. Rigid compression fitment at the hitch so it doesn’t bounce or rattle. Great bike capture and tray support. Mine even had an upgraded lock mechanism in the integrated cable locks. All works the same even with the addition of this longer cantilever.I will note it’s heavy and it’s hard to reach the lever to raise and lower the rack pivot. You can reach through, or build a breaker bar, etc.
