They do the job
Had a pair of Cavallo ELB boots that fit a little loose, so I bought a pair of these pads (they come in PAIRS) and voila! Problem solved. The boots "tightened" up. Awesome. These are hard plastic so they don't decompress like other pads do (I had bought a pair of easyboot pads and nope, they got smashed so easily).Worth it.And easy to cut too. Just have a sharp pair of scissors.

They provide some extra cushion when your horse needs it
I bought these because my horse had tender front feet after getting a trim. I put them in her boots which are a different brand and they worked great. Somebody commented that they are hard rubber. Of course they are because my 1000 lb horse would crush them otherwise. They still provided the cushion she needed to make her ouchy feet feel better.

Does not hold up
I bought these inserts to go inside my horse boots and made sure that they were the right size and type for the Cavallo hoof boot that I had bought. After one ride, my horse’s hooves cut through several areas mostly in the back. I went ahead and purchased a second set (4) so that they would be double padded and she was able to cut through the new ones. This was only after one ride with each. She had just had a fresh trim, so it wasn’t an issue of a misshapen or sharp hoof. I think they’re just not made to last. I have continued to use them in there however, there are holes in the back two corners of all Inserts and some heavy wear in the front. She is a mare who suffered laminitis and I need the extra padding in there or else I would be just using the boot.

make a big difference
I bought these from the manufacturer when I bought the Sport Boots but want to share my experience here. I wasn't sure the pads did any good--so thin. As an experiment, I took them out of the boots a few days ago and it was as if my horse was completely barefoot. Once I put the pads back in, he took a few tentative steps and then relaxed and moved out freely again. They do work. Unfortunately, and maybe because the pads are made to be cut to size with a scissors, they wear out. Because of the long toe/narrow width shape of my horse's front hooves after three years in shoes, his hooves cut through the material on the side of one within a few wears. The pads are still useable and do help, but one has a nice long cut near one edge. I'll probably be replacing pads frequently for as often as I ride, but they're cheaper than shoes, and the Cavallo products are helping in the transition to barefoot.
