Mattress pad takes 24-72 hours to uncoil, flatten and reach its full thickness. It definitely sleeps cool and is comfortable if you like a firm mattress. This may be due to the 4 inch pad I selected , so consider a 2 or 3 inch style which may give a softer feel.

I had high hopes for this. It felt hard as a rock and we tried it for a few months. We only began to sleep more comfortably once we removed it.

Love this product . Bought it and use it the next day and pain relief for my back. I recommend this bed to anyone that has a back pain.

**Please Note my review of this topper is after about 90 nights of sleep, having used a top of the line memory foam topper I am a 41yr old female**Previously I owned a 4” cooling gel memory foam topper (king size) purchased in 2009, it was expensive and very heavy. I wasn’t familiar with memory foam at this time but I was pregnant and it seemed like a great option to help me through restless nights. It was amazing. It was the best thing I ever purchase in my life. Sadly, after 13 yrs of amazing sleep it was wore out enough I gave in and started shopping. It truly lasted 10-12 years but it was hard to give up.I am now single, and my old topper was incredibly heavy so rather than try and fight to get the originally purchased brand into my car and then into my house alone I figured Amazon would save me aggravation. We’ll it did but that was about all it did.This mattress topper is not really cooling, it’s cold like a pillow and you have to move to find that cold spot again. It’s firm and conforming which I do like. After about 2 weeks I noticed it started to feel it was breaking in slightly where I can tell the areas I sleep the most, which was surprising because that was why I started looking for a new topper to begin with.If you know much about memory foam, you know it’s incredibly heavy. This is one is not, it’s actually very light. After 2 weeks I rotated it around on my bed. I would typically wait a month as I do with my mattress and I realized how easy it was for me to do this. My old topper took all of my strength and I usually broke a sweat (it also had a cover to help it slide). That was when I realized the difference between memory foam.Problem 1 for me is this is so dense once I settle into sleep, I cannot even roll over. Maybe that’s good for some, but to physically wake up to roll over or scoot out of a hole I sunk into sucks. My previous memory foam topper allowed me to lay comfortably in place as it formed to my body yet I could still move to my other side without feeling stuck.So in closing this is a very firm topper that is very cool or cold when you first lay down. It warms up with your body weight and heat. Once you have payed on it for about 10 minutes you will be in a position that you realize you will start to sink further into making it harder for you to move. If you can then roll to a new spot it starts the game over but at least you can cool off. I’ll deal with it until I find time to purchase my previous brand and I’ll give this one to one of my kids if they want it. Good luck but definitely do your research.

I'm a terrible sleeper. I toss and turn a lot, wake up a lot, and my whole body hurts in the morning. This mattress topper changed all of that, and I've had it for 6 months. I now sleep well, and wake up with no pain. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is, it is NOT cooling. It's pretty warm. But worth it for how well I sleep. I just have a fan blowing on me now.

Perfect size and firmness, just allow 24-48 hours for mattress to fill out! Completely satisfied with sleepmax king size mattress topper!

Shipping fold never went away. Huge ridge in middle of the bed. Left it for three days, flipped it over massaged seem and can not get the fold to go away. Not comfortable to me. Disappointed
