Oh my GOD!! it works. . .!!
Yes, it does. Put the right amount of water, take hot water from the water cooler from the office, or hot water from the crappy coffee office machine, and you got yourself a perfect cup of coffee from your favorite K-cup variety. I own a Keurig at home. I love that machine, but it cost me $200. This simple "french-press" like mechanism, now allows me to have that coffee at work, for only 15 bucks or so. The only thing I would change is that I wish the reservoir (which holds the water), was made of glass rather than plastic, which I suspect is why you have buyers complaining that after a certain use, it started to crack and break.I highly recommend, but remember to use hot water that you would drink from right away, and NOT BOILING WATER, which may cause it to break.

Amazing performance for such a simple little device ...
I'm really blown away at how clever this little contraption is. After going through two high-end Keurig machines in less than 4 years, I was searching for an alternative, thinking I'd have to go with a similar high-priced noisy kitchen-counter-real-estate hog, when I stumbled on this. Seemed almost too simple, but since I have a lot of k-cups and no coffee maker at the moment, I decided to give it a try.OMG! I've used it 8 times in 3 days so far, and the results are consistently excellent, every bit as good as the more expensive electric-powered coffee makers. I'm being careful to use hot-but-not-boiling water (I have a hot water pot that allows me to set the temperature). This is so easy to use -- put your coffee cup on the base, put a k-cup into the holder, pop on the water container (the clear plastic "sleeve") and push down until it pops into place (piercing the k-cup, just like the bigger coffee makers do), then add the hot water to the line for the size cup you want (I use 8 oz), and insert the plunger, pushing down slowly until all the water is pushed through. I have a large coffee mug, so I use 2 "runs" with 2 k-cups to fill it, just like I did with the machine.I've also used it for iced tea (using my iced-tea k-cups), hot tea, and cocoa -- no discernable difference between this and the high-end machines. It seems to be solidly built, too. I read the reports of cracks in the water reservoir and leaking, and I'm being particularly conscientious about using hot-not-boiling water. If I notice any issues, I'll definitely update this review. But if I can get even 6 months of use from this, I'm still way ahead of my experience with the machines.Seriously, everything tastes exactly like the beverages I got from the machines. But this is actually faster. My hot water pot holds 1.5 qts and comes to temperature in about 3 minutes; once it's hot enough, I just use the same pot without reheating. So ... in less than 5 minutes, I can make my usual 16-oz cup of coffee -- a task that used to take about 10 minutes with my keurig machine. And it takes up so little counter space. The ONLY improvement I'd make would be to make the platform area for the cup taller so that a larger mug could fit. Right now, I have to make each 8-oz cup into a smaller cup and then dump it into my 16-oz mug. It would be nice to be able to place my larger mug onto the platform, and then run it twice to fill the mug.At this point, I have no plans to replace my high-end coffee maker. Between my hot water pot and this little gizmo, I can have the same good coffee (and tea and cocoa) that I got with the expensive machines for about 1/8 the investment. I'm probably going to order 2 or 3 more, mainly for backups or to give as gifts. I don't usually impress this easily, but this little gizmo deserves a solid 5 stars. I love it!

Better than sliced bread.
Excellent! I don't know why I thought it would be smaller, but it is definitely sturdy. Tried it out and it works just as advertised. My husband thinks it's dumb so I'm not sure I will let him use it when our Keurig is on the fritz again, or the power is out, or we travel to Montana (the world' worst coffee, no offense). We are going to Kenya and I'm considering bringing this with my k-cups. I can see this on camping or car trips and at my in-laws cabin. If you have a way of getting hot water, you're golden. (Think gas stove, immersion heater with battery inverter for the car). Man, I wish I'd had this when my kids played soccer and baseball! This would also be prized in an RV! I may have to buy a camper van for this. My opinion, no relation or compensation received. I paid full price for this baby, and happy I did. We just got 6 inches of snow overnight and I'm not worried about no stinkin' power outage. Bring it on!

I wanted to love this
I was so excited when I saw this and thought it would be perfect for the workplace where I can't plug in a large kurig machine but I do have access to hot water. The concept of this is great but there are several flaws. The pros: This machine does what it states. You can easily brew coffee anywhere without electricity if you have hot water. While the spout opening is large you do have to practice if you don't have access to a pitcher and are trying to pour from a mug into it and not get hot water dripping down on you but with practice that problem goes away. The machine is nicely built and seems like great quality to me. The best part is that the coffee taste like my Kurig so it does what it states and saves me money from buying a cup or two each day at a store. The Cons: While this machine does make the coffee it leaks water. I've tried different orders of putting the K Cup in, and taking it out but there is a lot of water drippage after you finish making your brew. The hole that punctures the bottom of the k cup is fairly large so when i pull it out to throw away, coffee grains fall out.Somehow, coffee grains end up in the water reservoir as well. I make sure I don't pull up on the plunger ever while the K cup is there to ensure I'm not sucking up the coffee grinds on accident but a bunch always make their way in there! I am forever cleaning out the grains there, wiping my desk of the coffee grains that fall out of the bottom when I take the k cup out to throw out and soaking up the water where the pod goes because a little puddle loves to stay there as well as wiping down the base where the cup sits given residual coffee drops out of there no matter what I've tried to do to ensure the water is plunged down. While this machine gives me my coffee without the use of electricity and nicely sits in a corner of my desk without taking up much space, the amount of clean up required is not worth it to me. This is great though for coffee addicts to have in your home emergency kit =) If the power ever goes out and you have a gas stove to get hot water, you can still have your coffee!

Who need another electrical device?
Quick and easy, perfect for the camper. It will also be great for that ONE person that has to have decaf.
