Beautiful, functional, and well-crafted
I’ve had a chance to closely inspect this set and I’m very impressed with it. Both the spatula and the spoon are very well-designed and crafted. Both the spatula and the spoon are made from single pieces of wood. I originally thought the spoon head and handle were separate pieces, but there is no gap whatsoever between them, nor is there any evidence of glue. The grain pattern flows seamlessly through the handle and the spoon head, which confirms the construction. Both the spatula and the spoon have been sanded very smooth, so I don’t have any concerns about splinters. This degree of workmanship surprised me given the very modest cost of the set.Another indication of the quality (at least to me) is that when I rubbed the spoon and spatula with light mineral oil, the wood did not immediately absorb the oil. I’ve purchased wood items in the past that were so dry that several applications of oil were necessary. My two daughters liked the spoon so much that I bought three more of them (I’m keeping the third as a spare). I’m sorely tempted to purchase another spatula as well. The only problem I can foresee is the spatula is so pretty that I'm going to be afraid to use it.My thought is that this spoon will be perfect for stirring coffee in a French Press, as it would be very unlikely to break glass or scratch stainless steel.I purchased this set from Delitehome. Their customer service is fantastic.

My favorite spatula
I waited for a year of use before I wrote this review. (The reason I bought this was to get away from nylon spatulas since my two are "shedding" at the edge). I have used this about every day and I still enjoy using it. It doesn't have much show of wear, although there is a small cut that a sharp knife made when my kids weren't paying attention. This is not as thin as nylon spatulas but it can still get under stuff and is much sturdier. I've made omelets and egg dishes with no difficulty. It has a small notch in the handle for your thumb, I can't say that it's changed my world. I am very pleased with the shape so that it doesn't touch the spatula or the handle on the counter. Let's face it, cooking can get messy and if my spoon rest is already in use for another dish, this can rest on the counter and it doesn't make a mess (unless you have something very oily, oil does drip down. That's called gravity.) It cleans easily, but I wouldn't let melted cheese harden on it. I don't recommend melted cheese hardening on anything, that is never easy to clean. ;)I recommend this and I plan on buying another one so when I make those messy meals I have a second one.

well made
Having been using this spatula for over a year, and it is still holding well. I particularly like the thin design of the spatula where it can easily go below food to turn. The wood did discolor a bit but it is still beautiful.

Olive Wood?
So, I purchased this spatula and use it frequently. I like it. It’s slimmer and lighter than expected (not a bad thing), but I’m not convinced it is made from Olive Wood. I am familiar with the deep dark gnarled grain of Olive Wood, and that’s why I purchased this item. My spatula is pale with virtually no wood grain. It looks more like bamboo. I’m disappointed in that, but otherwise the spatula is good and inexpensive.

Beautiful spatula
This spatula is not only easy to use and clean, it is just beautiful to look at. When we first got it, we cleaned it with some warm water, and let it dry completely. Then we wiped it with food grade mineral oil. Because it’s all one piece of strong olive wood, it feels really sturdy, but it’s also light so your hand doesn’t get tired holding it. We’ve used it several times for a variety of foods, and it’s the perfect shape and strength. We will likely get another one. Highly recommend this beautiful, quality spatula.

Not your ordinary plastic pasta server!
I use this product as it’s intended. I would have given 5 stars across the board but the item was received with one of the pieces broken off, thus, I detracted 1 star on the sturdiness category . It was an Amazon Warehouse find and it would have cost me more to send it back and reorder. I just cut the piece off flush and went on using it. This thing is more delicate that your usual plastic pasta server but I was going for a more natural material (trying to get more natural on all my serving/cooking utensils). To me, it is worth the extra care and the need to be a bit more careful than my old plastic junk I was using. I did coat it with a food safe butcher block oil & finish to help protect it. Always hand wash after use and never put in dishwasher.

Clearly olive wood and very nice. Very happy we got it.
Not sure why they used that pic (I'll try to post one later) but soon as I opened it I could see it was olive wood with the signature dark rings. Just don't do what I did and not put mineral oil immediately before first using it. Mine has a slight green tint from zucchini at the end that hopefully will fade. Got it to replace a beloved wooden spatula that has reached it's end and this one is nicer. And you can't beat the price.

Love it so much I bought a second one and more of Scanwood utensils
It is so nice to find a super nice, gorgeous, Olive wood utensil that is bare/uncoated for me to put my own food grade mineral oil and wax on it. By far, THE BEST quality Olive OR Teak wooden utensil I've bought so far. And, I've bought a lot to get to this one. Haven't used it yet. It is a work of art and I can't wait to cook with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
