Q: How long does this keep items cold?

I have only used it to keep food hot and it stays for 6 hrs is the longest I had used it for I would assume it keeps food cold for that long. On the reviews it states up to 8 hours although I have never used it for that long.

Q: Can you buy extra plastic cups separately

It's very big, and around 1500ml. It's suitable for a family. The top of it is big enough to be cleaned well.
