Natural Ultramix Grain Free Red Meat Recipe With Raw Bites, 12 Lb

The ONLY dog food I've found so far that contains neither flax nor kelp.My German Shepherd experiences year-round allergies that become worse during the Fall/Winter months. I've always fed her a high-quality grain-free dog food and didn't think any of it was from food-related allergies, but after having the blood work done through Spectrum I'm still shaking my head.Flax and kelp! I suppose flax isn't technically a "grain", and sure enough there's a good dose of flax-seed in "grain-free" dog food formulas. The kicker as I started browsing ingredient lists was that for every grain- and flax- free formula I found, there was kelp.After a good amount of time hunting around, I finally came across the Natural Ultramix Grain Free Red Meat Recipe. Continuing with a high quality food was important for me, and I believe I've read that the Castor & Pollux foods are considered "human-grade" (although I'm not about to sample it to find out). My Shepherd absolutely loves it, thankfully she eats all of it instead of picking out only the meat pieces and leaving the kibble to linger.She's been on this food 1 month now and I'm observing less scratching and licking, fingers crossed. I'm happy with the quality and availability, the only reason I'm giving this 4-Stars is because the largest size available is a 12 lb bag and I would like the option to buy a 25-30 lb size.

I ordered this hoping the ingredients list was wrong in the picture. It is !! .... I have a German Shepard who is extremely sensitive to chicken/poultry. I am constantly on the hunt for quality made in the USA, with USA grown/raised organic as possible, dog and cat food products made from beef, bison, venison etc, anything but fillers, chicken and chicken meal !! .... This product is pricey, I am looking forward with hopeful expectation that this item will catch on, others will want it, and Castor and Pollux will realize how many faithful customers they would have if they start making it more affordable and in larger quantity bags !!. I am sure other German Shepards and their owners would appreciate it !! ... My girl can gobble 12 lbs quickly !! and she has a furry little brother who eats almost as much as she does. They love this brand and I would love to be able to feed it to them all the time. Her hot spots and itching has improved since switching to this, I also supplement their diets with "raw foods". :)

My Girls love this stuff! I have two small 2yr old morkies. They have been scratching, biting and sheading like crazy. They barely eat the blue buffalo I brought them, but this has been the fiot they have been eating since they were pups. I was afraid to change there food for a fear of diarrhea. Just received this foot today opened it and some spilled on the floor. They took one bute and was practically fighting for was was on the floor. WOW, must take good lol! This is only day one, so we will see the affects it will have as a over all nutrient for my babies. Hopefully it helps with the itchy skin and shedding. Fingers crossed.

My very picky Dog loves this dog food, the only dog food she has ever eaten more than 1 bag of in her life. It's that good. I didn't even know that anyone made a dog food with 38% protein! people think I spend to much money on my dog, this is not a cheap dog food at all. I feel that it's worth it because I no longer worry about her not eating. I put it in her bowl and she eats it without fail. No more reading labels of 20 different kinds of food doing the balancing act of nutrition vs tastes vs value. Now that I order it from Amazon I spend $20+ less per bag than what I was paying at my local pet supply store. It's so much easier, worth every penny.

My Shih Tzu really loves the raw meat bites. Just like a kid, she roots around picking them out first . Then later when hungryagain she eats the rest. i think she thinks the bites are treats. 😁i fed this food about 6 months. In Feb. my girl started having loose, watery, dark stools and very frequently. Never had this problem before. i took her off all dog food and fed her safe people food. She startedto get better and i switched brand. She is fine. A bad batch maybe ? Not sure . won't be going back.

Exceptionally high quality kibbled food. If you have to feed kibbled food to your dogs (and no, you don't have to), I highly recommend this food.I use this food as a supplement for any dog that has low weight issues. My go to foods are Sojos and Healthy Kitchen, which are expensive. If I need to get weight on a dog, or if I have trouble keeping weight on a dog, I add C&P kibble to their meals, cause I can't afford 100% Sojos/HK just to build weight.Also, when we camp, we feed C&P foods for one of two meals. It is more convenient, so we compromise.

My dogs absolutely loved this dog food and would eat as soon as I put their bowls down. My older dog is allergic to poultry, grains, corn, you name it, she was allergic to it. We tried a dozen different foods and nothing worked. She had no reactions with this food. Now I cannot get it anywhere. Please bring this back.

I think this food is great for my dog, but I really love the freeze dried buts that she loves. The only really annoying thing is that this bag can't close and open with the Velcro thing they use on the salmon food bag. Why can't they just do it on all the bags?
