loved this book a ton, first ever sport book I've bought and it's was very simple to understand, watched the show and I decided to buy it and didn't regret it

It was in excellent condition when it arrived. It was handled professionally with care.

I'm a huge fan of the anime and am so happy that this series is being published in English. I think this series demonstrates a lot of what makes shonen manga great (e.g., friendship, effort, victory! comedy and action without pointless interpersonal drama) without being just like every other Jump series out there. I find a quietly hilarious and unexpectedly skilled protagonist like Kuroko so refreshing and I think this series nicely balances games with practice and other school activities. I do wish the art in these first two volumes was as good as it becomes later on, but really that's just because I think this series (eventually) has the best art of any Jump sports series and I just can't wait for more volumes to come out.

I bought this right after I had been informed of and had finished watching the anime version of this series. Being able to have one of my favorite series of all time turned into a book is a blessing. Would definitely recommend this to all who enjoyed the anime or who are new to the series and prefer to read manga over watching anime.

Watched the anime finally picked up the manga. Not often into sports anime or manga but this is my current favorite

Good anime

Das folgende Review bezieht sich zum großen Teil auch auf die gesamte Reihe von Kurokos Basketball und nicht nur den ersten Band. Im Gegensatz zu unseren Verlegern, hat es VIZ Media geschafft hier einen ziemlich guten Sportmanga ans Land zu ziehen. Kurokos Basketball, auch bekannt als Kuroko no Basket lief schon wie Slam Dunk in der Shounen Jump und inspirierte wohl Fujimaki Tadatoshi zu dieser Serie. Allerdings ist Kurokos Basketball doch in vielen Dingen sehr eigen und die meisten Dialoge handeln eher um die Wundergeneration, einer Horde von jungen Burschen die zur Zeit ihrer Mittelschule sehr begabte Spieler waren. Doch aus diesem Team gab es auch einen leicht zu übersehenden jungen Mann namens Kuroko, der seine unscheinbare Gestalt dafür nutzt den stärkeren Spielern die Pässe zu kommen zu lassen.Es geht um Leidenschaft für den Sport, gelegentlich alltägliche Probleme im Schulalltag, Freundschaft und gerade um dieses umstrittene Wort das sich Talent schimpft. Für mich als absoluter Sportmuffel hat sich hier auf jeden Fall gezeigt, dass Sportmanga auch anders können. Viele Witze und auch ein wenig Drama finden in der Reihe gelegentlich Platz und die Dialoge sind wirklich sehr gut geschrieben. Das unterscheidet diese Reihe noch mal von seinem Anime, wo viele Dialoge zum Teil rausgestrichen worden sind. Für mich hat der Manga sein Herz einfach am rechten Fleck und entwickelt sich über die Zeit sehr stark weiter. Die Zeichnungen werden von Band zu Band immer besser und ab der Hälfte erkennt man echt nicht mehr, dass Fujimaki mal so unterdurchschnittlich gezeichnet hat wie am Anfang der Serie.Außerdem ist die Serie in einem 2-in-1 Format erschienen, wodurch es insgesamt wohl 15 Bände werden. Bei einer abgeschlossenen Serie wie Kuroko no Basket macht das auch ziemlich Sinn, wie ich finde. Da der Manga allerdings in englischer Sprache gehalten ist, sollte man vielleicht zumindest Grundkenntnisse in dieser Sprache beherrschen. Sprachlich ist Kuroko ziemlich simpel gehalten und wenn wirklich mal ein komisches Wort drin ist, kann man das relativ schnell googlen oder nachschlagen. Sehr zu empfehlen, also probiert euch ruhig mal daran aus.

Pretty flimsy but too be expected of a paperback manga. I always find these 2-in-1's and 3-in-1's a little hard to read, but I purchased this for my best friend who loves the anime. He was very excited and it's actually not hard to read at all. The artwork is really nice and the manga itself is high quality. If you enjoyed the anime, you will enjoy the manga. If you enjoy sports manga/anime in general Kuroko's Basketball (or Kuroko No Basket in Japanese) will not let you down.

Just... So good. Some more details:It is in English and is well translated.It is has a traditional manga layout (Right to left that is. I was worried it wasn't).Nice cover and has that new book smell. Can't wait for next volumes (shamelessly pre-ordered..)
