a great idea
Thought these would be a great gift for the homeless in our area. We think they will really work well and seem to be water resistant too. The come in a compact cover and have a clip that can be clipped to other things similar to a key chain. Hoping this will be a blessing to someone who is cold in this winter weather. It is very light weight so can be carried easily.

Good for single use
I bought this on a day hike up Mt. Whitney, so read the following with altitude and harsh element in mind. Everybody has one when we took a break half way up the mountain in early morning. At altitude and near freezing temperature, this is a good outer layer for wind protection. To make it "comfortable", you probably need to add a thicker sleeping bag liner and put all the warm clothes on to create heat. And don't forget to use a good rubber mat or air mat for ground insulation. We had half moon in early morning, and I can see through the bag when I covered my head under it. After the hike, I noticed small rips on the bag and just threw it away. It has served its purpose. I consider it a good single-use layer for wind protection. Don't expect it to generate any heat for you if your core is cold and the ambient temperature is low. Make sure you use it as intended.
