My New Go-To Knotless Leader
I was in the market for some new leaders in 2x and 3x and didn't want to spend $12 on a small pack (2-3) of Rio leaders so I thought I'd give these a try. I was extremely surprised at how easily these straightened out. Just a single tug while sliding it through my hands and it lost all memory. Even when it got twisted from using some squirmy wormy flies, it straightened right back out with little effort. My only complaint is that, to my understanding, the industry standard is 4 turns of the butt section around the leader to hold the coil for storage and these seemed to have anywhere from 6-8 turns, making it a tad bit difficult to know when to start unraveling it without getting knots. But that's nit picking. Will probably pick up some in 5x for dry fly fishing

Nothing was in package (Updated)
This packaging showed up with no leaders in it. Will change my rating when I get replacement. Very frustrating as I needed them for my fishing trip.... I am updating this review to state that replacement leaders were sent ASAP! I received them before I even returned the empty package I originally received. For that reason, I am giving them 5 stars. I have purchased from Bozeman FlyWorks before and this was the first issue I have had and they fixed it immediately. Very impressed. Will be purchasing from them again.

as good as umpqua! at 1/3 the price
they turn over beautifully.strong and knot easily to fluoro and mono tippet with every knot I've used. I usually stick with a blood knot.the knot holds well to the fly.no complaints - just ordered another 15 leaders for next season.I've planning on using them for the San Juan - and I hate loosing fish out there.planning on giving the fluorocarbon a test run in a couple of weeks here in Wisconsin - will test out the sizing(micrometer) and see how well it knots and tests after that. So far I've found my best new source of fly fishing gear!I know that they can't be making much of a margin at these prices - so I appreciate the service they offer to the rest of the flyfishing community. They can't be doing this for the money at these prices. Kudos gentlemen, well done!Mon Lun Yee MD

Very nice quality and usability
Thankfully, I don't go through leaders very quickly. In this case, it meant that my Bozeman Flyworks leaders sat in the leader wallet for a while, before I put one on. Very impressed. Butt section was wrapped quite a few times in the coil, so it took some straightening out, but the mid-body and tippet were strong yet supple, with very good roll-over in the loops. Might consider phasing these in as more than just my 9' 5x option.

First Impression
I have not fished with these leaders yet, but they appear to be similar to the Cortland 333 leaders that I use for everyday trout fishing in the blue ridge and smoky mountains. At least the test strengths are very close. I anticipate being quite satisfied with them, especially for the price. I'll probably have to go with a higher strength product when fishing Arkansas and Colorado,

Buyer Beware
I purchased 4 packages of 5 count, 9ft leaders. (3) 5x and (1) 6x. Just got around to opening the 6wt. Two of five were closer to 5ft in length, one of which was previously tied which is noticeable because of line memory. Secondly the typical RIO or Orvise of the same size is 3.4/3.6 lb test, this is 2.6lb test. I guess I'm stuck since I stocked up several months ago. I'll report back on performance with a tight line.

These leaders SINK.
These leaders SINK. Sink, not stink, although the two words are kind of synonymous in this case. Even after coating these puppies in floatant, they sink after a few casts. I swear it's like they're flourocarbon.I took these leaders on a two week fly fishing trip to NM/CO. It was great fishing but I used up many of my bank of curses on these leaders. Why do they sink?? These stupid leaders won't float! I swear my tippet was floating as well as my actual fly line, but the leader just pulled everything down. It's very hard to get a drag free drift when the entire leader is under water.I bought these for casting in meadow sections and on other potential finicky fish. But after trying four of the five leaders with the same result (sinking, obviously), I switched back to furled leaders. Much better result.Anyway, maybe mine were faulty, but I ordered 4x - 9' leaders and I was expecting floating leaders. The only thing they were useful for was throwing streamers. Will most certainly not be buying again.

Good value for the money
Pretty much 5 tapered leaders for the price of a 3 pack of bigger name brands. I'm relatively new to fly fishing (2-3 years) so haven't got into the intricacies of making my own leaders, but routinely replace last 2 feet of my leader with 5X flurocarbon tippet. I've only used this in the Fall with nymphs and had good luck with it and couldn't tell any difference to the big name brand I've used before. Will hold off on giving 5* until I try it with dries in the Spring and see how it holds up there.
