Works Great
My fence posts are directly in soil and have rotted, I pounded these in and secured with screws, the fence is sturdy and has stood up to 20-30mph winds.

I wish I had found these sooner
These live up to their description. I had my doubts, but they were easy to install. They straightened and strengthened several 4x4 posts and so far I have only installed on one side. They are kind of pricey but when compared to how fast a repair can be made as opposed to removing a post, cleaning out the post hole, mixing and pouring concrete, standing a post, waiting, etc. etc., the value is great considering the savings on labor, time, and the cost of materials to fully replace a post. I would buy and again and would definitely recommend as an alternative to post replacement.

Worked good for me
I have a 20 year old fence that was leaning after a hurricane. I discovered that all 9 posts were rotten at the ground line where the post went into the concrete. On most, I had to chisel the concrete to loosen it up slightly before driving the EZ Mend. While some sleeves drove down fairly easily, I found it most effective on some of the stubborn foundations to hold a 2.5 lb small sledge on the flange and drive into the small sledge with an 8 lb hammer. Because my fence was heavy (8' stick built shadowbox) this repair was a better option than taking down the fence and replacing the posts. The fence now is almost perfectly plumb and seems fairly sturdy. Before ordering, measure your posts. Mine were actual size 3 1/2' x 3 1/2" and the EZ Mender was slightly larger which is why it is so hard to drive it through concrete. I'm sure this product would be a breeze to install if posts are only in dirt.

I have rotted fence posts, used one of these so far.
I admit that I was skeptical. But it was worth the cost to try these rather than try to pull the old concrete out of the ground to install new posts. The instructions call for one each side, and the first (and so far, only) post that I fixed with these had no access on the far side. So I installed one on my side, I used a sledge on the striking surface, and whacked it with the flat side of an ax, It went in very slowly, but when it was in and the pose was plumb again, I enlarged the screw holes and installed 1/4" x 2 1/2" lag screws, after drilling the holes larger in the steel and drilling pilot holes into the wood. To my surprise, the fence post now feels very sturdy, before it was ready to fall over. These are cheap considering the cost of replacing the posts. Very satisfied with the product. It looks much stronger than the flat strap method, although a bit of a challenge of install, they went into the concrete and fixed the problem. I will be installing one each side for several more posts. I painted the steel with copper primer and it blended into the color of the fence.

I am giving it a 3 star because it is a very good product when used in the right situation
The fence mender is made of thick gauge metal which will keep the broken fence post standing upright. The problem is that if you have concrete around the broken fence post, it is vey difficult to hammer through the concrete. You will need to use a sledge hammer to break through the concrete. Using a rubber mallet will not do the job at all - that's what I used and I couldn't break through the concrete. Instead of trying to mend the broken fence post, I removed the broken post and the old concrete. I installed a new fence post and poured new concrete around post. The cost of the fence post was 10 dollars and a bag of fence post concrete was 2.65. Use the fence post mender only if your broken post is surrounded by dirt. I am giving it a 3 star because it is a very good product when used in the right situation.

Easy repair, no digging.
Very easy to install. U got to have a heavy hammer to drive those through the ground and the cement that surround the post, but anyone can do it. In my opinion, after you drive them in to position, is highly recommended to drill a hole on the 4×4 and install a galvanized 6 inch bolt through it and secure it with a nut. I start using those 4-5 years ago and still going strong. Good luck to you.

No Diggin For 20 More Years! WoooooHooooo!
These things are AWESOME! My fence posts rotted at the ground after a loooonnng time. I had put them in concrete. And that is the best part, because driving the E Z Mender in between the post and the concrete makes for a repair better than the original install. With the concrete stabilizing the repair I only needed one on one side. If you didn't concrete your posts in they are probably in pretty bad shape beneath the dirt and you probably need two E Z Menders. There is a nub on the side perfect for a 4lb hammer. I drove mine in till they wouldn't go anymore then painted the scuff marks so they won't rust any faster than anything else around here and I think they will last a long time.In fact, I like them so much I bought a whole box figuring more posts will go before I do.
