The Good: My hair is simultaneously super thick but also shiny/slippery (Asian hair that I don't use any heat appliances on and condition regularly). These hair ties somehow manage to grip my hair so that they stay on, but also don't pull my hair or hurt to take out (MAGIC). They are kind of rubbery feeling but also kind of satin-y to the touch. Before I found these hair ties I would have to re-tie my hair constantly, but now my ponytail can last all day if I want it to (including through physical activity). I see that some of the other reviewers say this tore their hair out, this has never happened to me! In fact, I think these might take out *less* hair than "normal" hair ties because these hair ties don't ever get tangled in my hair. Granted, I have very glossy hair (I don't even have to unwind them from my hair like some others said, I literally just pull to take them out).Some negatives: I like to keep my hair ties on my wrist, and these are just ever so slightly too tight to do that comfortably. They don't stretch out as quickly as other hair ties (although I take this to be a plus) so if you want to loosen them up enough to wear on your wrist comfortably it takes quite a bit of patience (this is what I do). As mentioned by other reviewers, the scunci name is engraved on them, and I have had these hair ties break on me. I also received one once (keep in mind I have purchased a lot of these, I lose hair ties constantly even though I try hard to hold on to these) that looked like there was an air "bubble" in the material, and after a handful of uses the hair tie snapped in that place. However, I don't think these hair ties break any more frequently than a comparable standard hair tie. With my thick hair I'm used to carrying around backup hair ties all the time for when they inevitably break, these I think break less often because I don't need to wind them as tightly since they grip so well. Even with some downsides, my opinion of a 5-star rating still remains because these hair ties basically changed my life.I wasn't paid to write this review or anything I just really love these hair ties.

The only hair tie I will use now. I've been using this product for 5 years now and it is amazing. I have long thick hair and it holds it perfectly. It doesn't snarl my hair. It doesn't break my hair. Love it. Please don't ever stop making it .

I have thick hair and have a hard time finding hair ties that hold my hair up where I put it. These are rubber so they grip really well. They do pull a bit on my hair when I remove them. Taking care by untwisting instead of just slipping it down when removing helps to not pull.

These rubber bands really Work. I’ve been buying them for several years now and they have never let me down. They hold tight and they don’t break. A lot of people tell me they like the “no pull” rubber bands. I just can’t get those tight enough and they slip out of my hair or break. You don’t have to put these as tight and they come out of the hair real easy so I don’t know what the complaint is about them pulling hair. These are good durable. You can use them forever.

I have a LOT of hair so ponytails can be a challenge. I’m a chef so my hair is up 80+% of my life and the quality of ponytail holder makes all the difference for me. I accidentally discovered this ponytail holder and I’ll never use another. Two turns and it holds my hair securely for an entire shift. I’ve never got more than an hour out of any other band before I have to pull my hair up again so 10+ hours is a miracle.With other regular elastic bands, my scalp is extremely sore at the end of the night in the spot just under my ponytail. That’s not the case with these bands, I think because they hold my hair so securely that my hair isn’t under strain at the scalp. These also don’t stretch out much, if any, as you wear them.They will eventually snap without warning (they don’t slowly stretch out at the seam like ones I’ve used in the past) so I always have a backup. They last a really long time, though, so this pack will go a long way. I think I used the last band on my old pack for over six months before it finally snapped. I can’t say that’s normal but I definitely go several years between purchases. I haven’t had any problems with these new ones snapping quickly like others have mentioned in reviews.Important note: this the only brand of plastic/rubber/silicon bands I’ve tried that don’t rip my hair out when I take them out. And I just pull them straight out of my hair, no unwinding. Again, I have super thick hair but it’s a medium texture and pretty shiny (without product). I think they could be a problem for those with dry or damaged hair as I’ve read several negative reviews which complain about pulling hair out. Definitely stay away from the Goody brand unless your goal is to slowly thin out your hair.(I know this is a lot of detail about a stupid ponytail holder but when you have as much hair as I have and you have to wear it up as much as I do, this is a significant life product. These bands are a game changer.)
