Outward Hound Tail Teaser Replacement Lure for Dog Teaser Wand, Brown

This is a MULTI-PURCHASE REVIEW...I give The Outward Hound Teaser Pole a HUGE FIVE STAR++++++! How did I ever manage to play with my pups before this toy I'll never know?! My dogs Love! Love! Love this simple toy. It's the best thing ever! My 9 month old Mini Golden Doodle is obsessed, as is my Shih-poo. It provides us all with endless hours of laughter and joy.The ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT TOYS (the black and white/beige and white, rat looking things) that come with the pole, I give FIVE STARS++. They're adorable, and depending on how aggressive your dog is at playtime, they can last a long time. The squeaker's....eh...not as long...but then I have a squeaker nut, so that might be the issue.HOWEVER, the FOX and BEAR replacement toys I give ONE STAR.(1) The Fox toy ripped across the middle the first day we played with it, so I sewed it back together. Easy fix. Once repaired, the loop broke (the loop at the top of each toy that attach it to the string on the pole). This was end of the fox, as there was no way to fix it successfully.(2) The Bear toy's LOOP broke the first time we played with it. My dog didn't EVEN have it in his mouth at the time, it just flew off the pole! WTH!? The loops on the original ones have NEVER broke, and my larger dog, at 30 lbs has been drug across my yard with it in his mouth.The loops on the stuffed fox and bear are thinner and weaker.I only wish I had realized this before the time for a refund had expired. Ugh. Now I'm stuck with the darn things, as I bought two of eac. Oh well....I guess it is what it is....sigh.

The flirt pole was a God-send. I can exercise my dog who legit never gets tired in a way that she loves and I enjoy! I can walk around the backyard with this thing all day long. The black skunk one held up well; the brown one lost its bottom but I just used the top part; but the fox broke free from its string the first day I used it! SUGAR. So not indestructible, but I’ll buy a thousand of these things for the peace it eventually gives.

That thick rope and the toy its self are connected with weak thread, my dogs ripped it off pretty fast. This would be the perfect teaser otherwise. I liked it so much I sewed it back together with braided fishing line.

I have a reactive border Collie, so find things we can do around home, including exercise and enrichment, is super important!A flirt pole was recommended and this has been amazing!! This flirt pole is very sturdy and fun to play with! The original skunk held up super well, but it was getting gross! 😝I replaced with the fox which I purchased separately, and the string broke IMMEDIATELY. I then replaced that one with the other animal that came with the flirt pole and that one was fine.Moral of the story: DO NOT BUY THE ONES WITH LONG STRINGS!At least she still gets a chew toy out of the fox. 🙂

My dog loves her flirt pole but destroys the toys quickly. I bought four of these as replacements and she seems to like them better than the original toys that came with the pole.

If you have a hearing break like I do this is a must buy. Bought 3 when they were on sale and I am so glad I did. Even though these last for a whileeee it never hurts having some extra lying around. This is my aussies FAVORITE toy. Not sure if it will work with all high energy dogs but definitely worth a try.

Edit: dropping a couple stars because the squeakers break insanely easily. I ran out of working ones shortly after the original review and I finally got a couple more and they BOTH BROKE THE SAME DAY I GOT THEM!! I don’t know what is up with the squeakers on these but my god come on this is extremely frustrating. I’ll likely be looking elsewhere for replacements now. I get that it’s technically meant for training, but regardless the squeakers should NOT be breaking so quickly. It took less than a minute for him to break one of his new ones. Absolutely ridiculousI got the long teaser/wand thing with three of the attachments for it. My dog goes NUTS for it and it’s pretty much all he wants to play with. On one of them, the squeaker broke relatively quickly. The second one got hit by a mower so no fault of its own 😂 but the third one, the plastic bit inside of it that houses the rattle things broke into two pieces and now just freely moves around more and will make its way into the tail of the toy where the squeaker is supposed to be, so my dog will catch it but have to grab hard plastic instead of a squeaker and no matter how many times I maneuver it back to the front of the toy and move the squeaker back into the tail, it just goes right back. The squeaker also wasn’t working very well on it anymore. So the other day I got on here and saw that they were half off. I got 4 of them and they came in yesterday. My dog was SUPER excited when he saw them. Well one of them broke just within maybe an hour total of playing. The squeaker doesn’t work at all. Mind you, my dog is only about 9 pounds so HE isn’t causing them to break by being a rough chewer or anything. The squeakers on his normal toys are perfectly fine, and that’s with him AND another larger dog playing with them. He’s the only one interested in these teasers and they’re already breaking. It’s disappointing because he LOVES these and I really don’t want to keep putting forth the money to get replacements that aren’t even going to last a month. The plastic inside needs to be set in place better and the squeaker needs a major durability upgrade or something

Listen to all the negative reviews on this one! The string completely broke off within the first 20 seconds of attaching it to the flirt pole. My dog didn’t even tug hard. Disappointing as the two toys that originally came with the flirt pole lasted months of heavy use.
