IT ACTUALLY WORKS, pool size 16' x 32' above ground, funny story...
In this year of Covid-2020, I like thousands of other suckers was talked into buying a pool. Don't get me wrong, I love pools! However, I love going to other peoples pools. I'll bring drink, food, etc and enjoy your pool for a bit and leave. This is the best type of pool for me! The last thing I ever wanted was to deal with a pool myself. Alas, this was not to be....We bought a 16 x 32 Intex above ground pool that arrived on the hottest week in southern NJ in July. I had prepped a large area in the back corner of the yard against the woods. Put the pool up on the next hottest weekend. Then paid $750 for a water company to fill it up (15,000 gals water). Had water tested, paid a ridiculous amount of $$$ at the "pool supply store" to "balance" the water. *Side note: if there's such a thing as incarnation I am definitely buying a pool supply store.....what a racket! We then enjoyed the pool for an entire 8 days until hurricane Isiasis blew thru and wiped our new pool frame out....I should have taken this as a sign. But no, I did not. I contacted Intex for warranty claim and parts which they were extremely good and fast with dealing with, kudos to them. Drained all 15,000 gallons of water back out of the pool so i could replace the damaged frame parts and scrub the liner from of the dirt and detritus of the storm. Of course this could only be done on the next available hot weekend...Then I had to make the decision on whether or not to pay an additional $750 to the water company or just fill it over a period of days. I chose the latter. I have a double filtration system coming off my well pump because we have a lot of iron in our water. So, before filling I replaced both filters to have an extra clean start. Took 3 days to fill it running the pump for 4 hours or so intermittently.By Wednesday I was once again a pool god! Grandkids were excited to hear the news, all good! So of course logically the first thing I did was shock the pool in the evening and when I went out later with my flashlight to check my pool, it now had a beautiful light green cast to it.....seriously, someone please come and shoot me now! After some web search I find that copper turns your pool green so back to the pool store I go. They test it, shows very little copper in it, but I have to adjust the PH. Do that, it clears up in 2 days. But now I see that the clear intake filter intake hoses have a definite brown cast to them, which is what I expected from the iron in the water. I am seriously looking for my throw in towel at this point but go back to the web again and find this Culator product. I am by this point rightfully skeptical of anything pool related but buy them anyway. When they arrive, the first thing I think is these are way too small to do anything. So I wet them, squeeze them and put them in the pool skimmer basket and nothing happens for 2-3 days. Then I rethink my approach and put them in the pump skimmer basket to get full water flow across them and in the course of the next 3 days the entire pool is crystal clear. The intake hoses are clear. An actual product that does what it says it will do! They do change color as they collect whatever metal/mineral deposit you are dealing with. At 61 years of age, I am definitely not a guy that sits down to share my experience or review a product. But in this case, after all the trevails with this pool I would definitely say a review is warranted. I have already ordered 2 more for next year.In closing, would I trade the $6,000+ that we've spent on this pool adventure instead of the European vacation we were saving and planning for this fall? Oh, you better believe I would! In a heartbeat! But these are different times now for the time being. Hopefully we will all continue best practices until we can get past Covid. I wish you all well in your own personal pool battles!

Excellent. Worked as advertised.
Excellent. I had 0.2 ppm of Cooper in my pool water. I used a copper algaecide which caused a copper spike. After using one of these bags in my 20,000 gallon pool for a week, there was zero trace of copper left according to my test kit. The bag turned blue which would indicate it captured the copper. This is an excellent alternative to pouring more expensive chemicals into the water.I bought two thinking I’d need both. I only needed one. The bag states it will remove 1.0ppm from 20,000 gallons. I will save the other for my next algae treatment should I need it.I’m not sure how this didn’t work for some pool owners............give it some time to do its job. Don’t be impatient.

Really works. I would buy again.
The chlorine level was perfect so we suspected high levels of copper in our salt water pool, due to green tint on my white dog’s fur. There is no chemical way to lower copper, so we bought these bags to help remove the copper. All you do is wet it, then squeeze out the air and let it sink and stay in your bug basket. It is small enough that it doesn’t inhibit water flow. Sure enough after a few weeks in the bug box, the bag turned light blue, just like the color coded chart for copper. Each bag works on up to 20k gallons of water. I bought 2 bags because our pool is 30k gallons. For some reason I only used one and it worked fine. According to the directions, they last a few months so I’ll have a back up.

Decent for Metal Control
These have not done much from a stain prevention perspective; however, my metal levels seem to stay under better control using these than not. I've not had to use any metal free/metal remover while using these. Prior to using I was having to use Metal Sequester on a regular basis.

Sadly, It does not work.
I tried this product twice. I have copper and iron in my pool from yard run-off during heavy thunderstorms. The pool is at the bottom of the hill. I probably need to drain and refill the pool to remove all the metals but it's 30k gallons and the H2O is not inexpensive. My plaster has some yellow and brown stains. I was able to remove the stains with liquid metal/mineral inhibitors. Keep in mind that these chemicals suspend the metal instead of allowing them to precipitate out of the water and stain the plaster. Sadly, this product was purchase twice over the years and removed nothing. I left it in the skimmer baskets and they may have changed color due to the leaves but no metal was ever removed from my pool. I would rinse the little white bags and they would come out sparkling white. These bags do not remove any metal and eliminate only some extra cash from your account. No stain eliminator will magically catch and remove metals. The only long lasting fix is to drain the pool and refill with clean water.

i really don't know
Before this one I was using CuLator Metal Eliminator and Stain Preventer 4 in my pool and I have seen it work. It becomes bright blue in 2 weeks and water in a pool become a lot better. This one sitting in my filter for more than a month and it did not change at all. So, one out of two. My water is perfect or it does not work as promised ... Somehow I don't believe I have perfect water ...

Wow - these worked.
Lowered - eliminated my copper content. Far easier to use than a metal remover liquid solution.

Gets the job done easily.
We have a 27,000 gallon pool, and the copper had gotten up to .3ppm, and needs to be below .2ppm. I got two of these, and put one in each of my skimmer baskets. After 6 weeks the copper is down to .1ppm. Much easier, and less expensive, than draining the pool.My plan is to keep these in the skimmer baskets, and if the copper ever goes up to .2ppm again, I'll replace them with new ones.
