10' X 14' Ultra Plush Non-Slip Rug Pad for Hard Surfaces and Carpet

This is a quality product. We experienced no strange smells. The item was packaged rolled up and doubled over, but rolled out flat with no problems. The seller included usage instructions with the product. This has a rubberized grippy material on one side and a soft wooly material on the other. Instructions are to use the grippy side down on hard surfaces and the wooly side down on top of carpet. Worked great for us and has stayed in place during a week of 4 kids playing every game imaginable on the new carpet. It is not particularly thick or particularly soft, but it made a fairly thin area rug feel normal and not slide around on the floor.One note for future buyers - the literature included with the product says that if you know the exact dimensions of your carpet, you can contact the seller to have your pad cut to exact size. We ended up trimming ours (which was easy) as we didn't have the carpet yet when we ordered the pad. But this info will hopefully benefit some who know what exact size they need.

Reasonable price, came quickly. I have these under two area rugs. they don't slide easily on the wood floor, and the rugs don't seem to slip off the pad. Nice thickness, makes the rug feel more substantial. I had to trim off the sides, but the length could have been longer. for others choosing a pad, I recommend going with a size that is larger than your rug and trimming ends and sides as needed. Didn't take off stars for this, as it was my mistake

The rubber/felt rug pad is perfect for our 8 x 10 oval braided rug that rests on a newly refinished hardwood floor. Without the rubberized/felt rug pad, the rug moved all over the floor creating a hazardous situation. The new pad is thick and was easy to cut with scissors. We traced the outline of the oval rug onto the pad with a Sharpie pen and cut inside the tracing by 1-2 inches. The pad creates a very comfortable feel to the braided rug. The rug doesn't slip off the pad and the pad stays in place on the slippery floor. We also did not detect an odor with the new pad. Why the 4 star rather than 5 star rating? It took a while for a large crease in the folded pad, as it was shipped, to relax and lay flat. I was worried that it wouldn't but within a week it did.

I don't know if it's even realistic to expect no movement at all from a rug that's on carpet, but using this rug pad, there is very little movement at all.Most important though, is there is absolutely no buckling or rippling, which is a tripping hazard and can be dangerous.The rug this is on, is in our carpeted bedroom alongside our bed. There is no furniture sitting on the rug, so the only thing keeping it in place is this rug pad.Every week or so, I notice about an inch of the rug pad peeking out from under the rug. The rug pad hasn't moved, but the rug has just worked its' way off a bit.Very easy to just tug it back into place.Our rugs on hardwood all have furniture sitting on them, so I don't know if I can attribute the movement of our bedroom rug to the fact that it's on carpet, or because there's no furniture on it. Whatever the reason, the movement is minimal, there is no buckling and no tripping danger, and I am very pleased and satisfied.

Update, December 4, 2013: I have decided that these are useless products and am in the process of finding an alternative use for them rather than just throwing them into the trash which is my first instinct. After several months, the lack of adhesion between the pad and the rug on top of it was only the first problem. Now they slide around on the hardwood floor easily. I assume that whatever was supposed to keep them from sliding has worn out or there is some other problem. I would NOT buy them again, and would strongly encourage others to look for a better product.Original Review:This was the second of three pads of this manufacture that I bought in a short period. They are well made and come with good instructions, not that putting a pad down is complex. However, the three area rugs we have placed on top of the pads slide of the pad. While the pads adhere very well to the hardwood floor, there needs to be improved grip between the carpet and the pad before I would purchase again or recommend to others. Heads Up: If planning to buy and place near a door, keep in mind the thickness of the pad. We bought one for an area rug near the front door and the door "sweep" does not clear it.

This rug pad is slightly too small for my 5'x7' rug by about 3 inches all around, which leaves a weird ridge around the perimeter of the rug. The rug is also constantly slipping off the pad and then the pad shows. This is right at my front door, so with everyone coming in and out, the rug is constantly crooked and pad is always showing. I think I will order a perforated mesh pad for the rug instead. I know this type of pad is supposed to be better, but I need one that will keep the rug from slipping on the hardwood floor and I think the foamy, stickier option will work better.

This rug pad is well made and of very good quality. We have ceramic tile floors so I was looking specifically for a pad made of felt and rubber to grip the floors well enough to keep a plush 8x10 rug in place and make the rug a bit softer underfoot. It does a great job of keeping the rug in place and it did make the rug slightly softer (to be fair, we have a basement apartment and beneath the tile flooring is solid concrete so there's only so much that can be done to cushion the floor). We were even more impressed with the customer service as the seller was kind enough to send a replacement pad after the one we'd originally gotten was destroyed in a flood. Fortunately, the pad actually saved our rug!

Perfect softness and thickness for a woven woolen rug from Oaxaca. No more slipping around. Dogs cannot rumple it by running on it, etc. Very happy with this product. Used large scissors to cut it to fit, as per instructions

This rug mat does help a little with slipping, but certainly not to the degree I hoped. It is no match for my 15-pound cat as he merrily rips around, and my rug still needs constant adjustment. I would recommend spending a bit more money and getting a half-decent rug mat, preferably one that isn’t so ugly!

Exactly what I needed. Great quality. Not too think but provides enough cushion. The reg no longer goes flying when the dog treats the hallway like a race track!

This is a quality underpad that will protect your area rug and provide an added element of safety as it prevents the rug from sliding on the floor. It also helps keep the rug flat. We were amazed at the speed of delivery - this shipment beat the expected delivery date.

Sturdy, I am happy I got these for my rugs. They fit perfect and make my wool/ sisal rug look great.

Great product no issues. Our dogs do the 0-60 run for the door and the carpet stops the slide! It makes the carpet that much more comfortable as well!!
