These predator guards are as expected, the correct size, and easy to install. However, the screws provided do not screw in flush against the guard, instead the taper underneath of the screw head cause there to be a gap between the head and the guard. Functionally doesn’t matter, but I don’t like how it looks and will need to replace with different screws.

After we discovered an unusual nest in one of our bluebird houses I posted on the Bluebird Facebook page to find out what it might be.The green moss and feathery peices made it easy for more seasoned birders to identify.They quickly let me know that we had been blessed with Chickadees. And that I needed a hole adapter to protect them from other birds.I purchased this set (just incase any of the other houses on Madell's Meadow were blessed) and had it the next day.It was simple to install and the Chickadees had zero issues with it.It had only been on a short time but it looks and feels sturdy.

The opening of the predator guard itself is the size I ordered, 1 1/8 inches. However, as other reviews have mentioned, the included screws are wrong for this application. Because the underside of the screw head is not flat, it will not fit snugly against the guard without sticking out. The screws that are included are the type that have to be recessed. This would be a 5 star review if the right screws had been included but since they weren't I have to go buy the right ones. Defeats the purpose of ordering from Amazon which is reasonable prices and delivery. That's why they lost stars. I really hope this seller reads this and the many other reviews pointing out this issue and takes steps to correct it.Edit: I returned this product. The product description says it's copper but it doesn't look like any copper I've ever seen. Since I don't know what type of metal it is I have no idea how fast it will corrode and ruin it's effectiveness as a predator guard and discolor my new bird house which should last for many years. That combined with having to buy additional screws just made this more expensive than it's worth. I bought another product sold on Amazon which is real copper and comes with the right screws.

Great product and quality...

These metal predator guards are good at deterring invasive birds or predators from chewing the wood around the opening of a birdhouse nest box. Combined with a hole extender makes your birdhouse nest box even more secure. Be sure to buy the correct size as different bird species have preferred opening hole diameters.
