Excellent upgrade for your 5.3
Power increases you can really feel in the seat of your pants. Some reviewers state that it runs fine without a tune. Maybe so, but still, GET IT TUNED! You will have MUCH better results! I had mine tuned by Black Bear and it pulled noticeably harder than without the tune. Iv'e been running this cam for a year now and I am still getting a real world 14-15 MPG on regular pump gas, 33" tires and 3:73 gears, same as it did stock, but now with a much bigger kick in the pants! This cam has a slight lope to it at idle and sounds great. I would highly recommend a good exhaust set up and a good cold air intake set up, not one of those piece of crap K&N's everyone buys that pulls hot air from under the hood, but a true cold air intake like the stock version without the maze of piping the air has to travel through. LS engine LOVE air and this cam will up that need for more air. Don't listen to the self proclaimed cam experts who call this a "baby cam". This is a great upgrade for your Silverado/Sierra pickup and will keep it a great daily driver!

runs awesome and picked up power everywhere
Comp Cam's are huge in the industry for a reason. Fully thought out integrated kit. Cam sounds incredible, runs awesome and picked up power everywhere. Car pulls better than stock locked up in overdrive at 1200 RPM!!! No peaks and huge torque from 2000 RPM on! I got this on Amazon for $550 instead of over $800 everywhere else. Thanks for the great deal! 100% would buy and recommend to a friend.

For not fit all cars/trucks as stated
This is not for a 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV as stated. This does not fit a VVT ENGINE. Customer service was useless and almost sent a replacement that was also wrong for the truck. The description is confusing because it is too generic especially for VVT vehicles. Comp cams make a VVT CAM BUT HAD TO ORDER OFF JEGS and speak to a CS rep to ensure the correct cam. The correct comp cam is 156-401-13 for this truck. This mistake caused a 3 week delay is fixing engine. Add the right part number in description so consumer can get on with his build with the correct part

Great Upgrade for a Daily Driver!
I bought the 212/218 K-Kit for my 2007.5 Silverado with the 5.3. I was using it for the AFM/DOD delete and I couldn’t be happier. Works great if you want a little power out of your daily driver. It gives an increase in power and sounds great. I have it paired with a MBRP stainless steel exhaust. It doesn’t need a tune after installation, but if you want to get the most out of it, get it tuned! Very happy with my purchase!

Awesome cam for the 5
Awesome cam for the 5.3 in my Datsun. On an otherwise stock engine car made 328hp / 336tq to the wheels (see dyno photo.) really woke the engine up and car has fantastic midrange and higher end power but is still extremely streetable. However, this cam will require tuning. My car would not hold an idle until tuned - but now idles very nicely. Love this cam for my setup

What is in the Box
This was the package I ordered and the cam card matched the description, When I went to degree the cam and measure lift for valve to piston clearance I found the duration was correct but the lobe separation was 1° more and lift was 0.034" more lift on the int. and 0.036" more lift on the exh.Little more than I wanted for a DD but I will live with it. Thank you Comp Cams for giving me what I actually wanted.

Do it!
Great improvement over stock with a very slight lope at idle. Nice gains without having to go too extreme with valve springs. I am not disappointed with this cam. Some may argue that it's not big enough, but my 5.3L loves it! It is much easier to live with around town than the 219/235 @ 0.620" that was in there previously....with almost no difference in power.
