I must say that reading this account should stoke the adventurous flames of anyone who was drawn to the subject in the first place. I was instantly drawn into the voyage and it held up until the very end. Great read!

The wanderings of an alcoholic Brit (originally south Africa) sailing his way around the world as crew on other people's boat. You won't learn any sailing. But have the best addresses for clubbing in Ibiza or boozing in pubs around the world.

We loved the book - a sneak-peak into a life of a person full of adventures many dreamed about, but very few dared to go for. Based on a true story very well composed easy read. Best choice of book for anyone to spend a day with during Christmas tucked under the blankets with a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. My boyfriend, Jay, who never even reads books couldn’t put my kindle down until the end of the book! Amazing adventure and superbly written and can’t wait for books 2 and 3.

Have you ever thought about leaving it all behind? Dropping that 9-5 and waking up to the roar of a ripping sail? If you day dream about living on the edge and truly setting out on an adventure. What an amazing journey! This book makes me want to pack my belongings up, buy a boat and sale around the world too (okay maybe not the parts about the massive storms with your mast metres from the water)! Daz has such a unique and inspiring outlook on life, which is clearly evident in this book! It is a must read for anyone interested in sailing and adventure or even anyone who wants to read a book about pursuing your dreams even when it seems like the world is against them happening! Great book & amazing journey Daz, you should be proud of yourself! Can't wait for the next one!

Awesome read. Great mixture of adventure, life philosy and determination. Some really solid lessons hidden in this entertaining tale of where a positive mind set and determination to succeed will get you. Very refreshing and easy read! I enjoyed it allot and was entertained and kept in suspense while simultaneously being exposed to some proper life lessons that the author had experienced that hard way...also you may inadvertently pick up random sailing knowledge....be warned!

This is a beautifully written story about hope and adventure - one of those books I couldn't put down - read from cover to cover in 1 sitting! Really looking forward to book 2!
