I purchased the 3 unit TCL mesh wi-fi booster system. We live in a rural area and have a brick ranch with an add on sunroom. The router was installed in the sunroom and did not have a very strong signal to the back of the house where my husbands desk and laptop were located. We had tried the kind of booster that plugged into a wall socket and had arms that moved to try to get a stronger signal but that did not work. Our wi-fi printer/fax machine was in my craft room and was not getting a strong enough wi-fi signal for it to work. After installing the TCL mesh units we now get a strong wi-fi signal anywhere and everywhere in our house. We have one connected to the actual router in the sunroom, the second unit just sitting on our entertainment center in the middle of the house and the third one sitting on my husbands desk in the back of the house. The wi-fi signal is strong everywhere in our house now. Our printers, fax machine and even streaming tv shows are faster. My husband said the instructions to install were easy to follow. We were amazed at how fast all of our devices now connect via wi-fi and we don’t loose a signal anymore. You will need to assign a new name and password to the new link, and then go to all mobile devices, cell phones, printers and laptops and link them to the new booster router, but it was fast and easy. We would highly recommend this TCL mesh wi-fi system. Check your square footage to see how many you would need to purchase.

I am a computer guy and kind of just stumbled on these TCL Mesh kits. These are FANTASTIC! I have installed at least 6 sets and they just work great. The first install was a little bit of a struggle, but once I got it and understood how it works the rest were really easy. They work together seamlessly. I did learn to take a pic of the tiny label on your first unit connected to the router- that helped me read the code I needed. For years I have installed all sorts of repeaters and hot spots, these work so great and the price is awesome. I am shocked that it has not got the press it deserves. I now keep them in stock- true

i bought 2 packs of 3. initially i started testing this while still using my previous wifi home solution. this tcl was pretty glitchy, losing connection every 10 - 20 minutes or so. after i got it dialed in in regards to spacing throughout the house, i disabled all of my previous wifi and that 100% cleared the losing connection thing. right now it's working like a charm.why not 5 stars you may ask; when i disable dhcp to allow my modem/router handle that- it'll get stuck in a reboot loop kind of glitch. and i'm on the latest firmware.the next thing why no 5 stars is the fact that the manual is very (nice) limited on information. i'm not even sure if i can connect to the mesh without the ios app. other that that the app work very good! i can really recommend it as a 4 to 5 star item

Easy, straightforward plug and play setup. We've always suffered from unstable wifi signal while using extenders: the problem only worsened when we upgraded to a faster connection with our internet provider. Based on our (mostly basic) needs, this mesh system gets the job done nicely! All we had to do was connecting one of the three units to the router, located on one end of the house, and plugging in the other two next to our smart TVs. We've finally got ourselves a stable and strong signal throughout the whole home. Pretty inexpensive and highly effective gadget, what else could we ask for?

I purchased this TCL mesh system after reading many reviews from tech websites and lots of Amazon reviews. It's obviously significantly cheaper than any other brand name system out there so I was very hesitant but I really liked how each node had a LAN connection meaning I could plug in LAN only devices (my Hdhomerun for example) without having to run cable all over the house.They arrived quicklyNice packaging, very good sleek look, unlike my Asus router with antennas all over the place, these will blend in.Each node is incredibly light, like 8-10oz huge difference from my current router and modem. But this also made me worried, how could something so light contain enough networking equipment and antennas?I plugged in the first mode directly to my modem (disconnecting current router) with the included Network cable, connected the power line and waited.Wifi signal came on (a single SSN with both 2.4/5 GHz) I connected my phone and then downloaded the app.That's as far as I ever got. The app could never find and therefore could never connect to the router. I called TCL, they gave me a tech support number to call, and no one ever answered. After a half hour without anyone answering I hung up.I then proceeded to try everything, disconnecting, restarting, resetting, and switching out each node. Nothing worked. The third node in the box didn't even broadcast a wifi signal for me to connect to.BOTTOM LINE:These are cheap for a reason. The ones I got were clearly defective, or something, but the app was so terrible and the fact that even connecting a PC and manually trying to pull up the router page didn't work, shows me these are not going to last long. I'm disappointed but not surprised. My guess is most units will work out of the box (set-up seems fairly simple) but I can't imagine these working long without issue.
