Delicious Rice alternative WAY BETTER than Cauliflower, Miracle Rice & Lupini Rice!
I've been keto since the beginning of this year and experimenting with several brands/foods. This Hearts of Palm Rice is delicious and does an amazing job absorbing sauces/liquids well Cauliflower Rice: God awful in my opinion. Taste is too strong, hard to dry out and doesn't absorb well. Way too soft Miracle Rice (Shirataki): chewy and doesn't truly absorb sauces, they sit within the sauce but don't absorb it. This has been an okay alternative. Lupini: discovered this from Aviate. I purchased 3 packs. I cooked half of one pack and will throw the rest of that pack away, along with the other 2 packs. Reminds me more of Orzo, chewy/sticky texture and doesn't translate well to dishes. Back to my new found favorite (Hearts of Palm rice), I purchased one pack to start and came back to order SIX. This is the ONE. Like a previous reviewer said, it goes perfectly with TIKKA MASALA None of these substitutes are rice nor will they ever be. This specific Hearts of Palm rice carries similar characteristics and is much easier to prepare than Cauliflower, Shirataki, Lupini and even actual Rice

Chaotic Eeeevil aligned rice subsitute
This was absolutely the most vile thing I have put in my mouth since I was 3 and ate crickets. It tastes like vinegar. It has the texture of fermented saw dust. Generally, I like palm hearts so I am not at all certain what they did to the poor innocent plant material to turn it into an abomination, but whatever dark rituals they used should be anathema to human society. They should be shunned. I tried to make it with cilantro. It not only tasted like it wanted to be artichoke hearts gone over to the dark side, but also like it was laughing at me from the bowels of its wickedness. In short, I absolutely recommend it to people evil aligned NPC's that are trying to scare away potential mates, torture an errant spouse, amuse themselves at the expense of an in-law, or any other nefarious purposes, but not at all for anyone of neutral or good alighnments wishing to simply eat an enjoyable meal.

Good alternative to rice
Overall it’s a reasonable replacement for rice. You really have to rinse it thoroughly to get the odd smell off. Once you do that I use it in recipes that are moist (like casserole’s or gumbo etc. Eating it plain doesn’t really taste exactly like rice but for the low calories and the ease of cooking and the general taste I can accept the difference. Overall I like it!

PERFECT RICE SUBSTITUTE-HEALTHY!!!
UPDATE 3/2/2023---THIS LATEST PRICE OF $30.90 (I paid $19 a month ago) is ridiculous and I will NEVER buy this again at this price, no matter how much I love the product. Natural Heaven and OxKom (seller) can keep it. Maybe if they go back to generic packaging and not the fancy box they use, where printing has a lot to do with the added costs, I may buy again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First Review: I have been eating Natural Heaven product for years. First time buying the "rice" version and LOVE it. Cooks well (if you want it heated), and tastes great, like the spaghetti version. Way healthier than carby rice, at least for me. Lots of fiber and low in carbs. Here's my favorite way of eating: heat one package (forget worrying about serving size as it's only 70 cals) in microwave for a minute, remove and add 1/4 teaspoon of organic ground turmeric (we will only use Terrasoul brand by the way) and mix. Holy moly it's soooo good and I must say, ADDICTIVE. Downside? a high 375 mg of sodium (almost 20% of a whole day's requirement!), I have no idea why, with all we know about sodium, that Natural Heaven adds that much, or why use it at all. The pasta style product has way way less than that added, to the tune of only 51 mg. Just dumb.

Not bad, but not even close to real rice
Short version: SURPRISE! It tastes like hearts of palm. Because it’s made from… wait for it… hearts of palm. If you like hearts of palm you ll probably like this. Or at least tolerate it. Long version: there is probably never going to be a one for one swap for rice as long we are alive. Texturally it misses the mark for “rice” as do all swaps. It’s slightly wet, and the individual pieces are more like little clumps of fiber. Taste wise it’s not even close to rice. If you don’t go in expecting it to taste like rice then you might not be as angry as the bad reviews. It tastes like hearts of palm. A little lemony/vinegary. Just like riced cauliflower tastes like cauliflower. If you don’t like hearts of palm then you won’t like this. No matter how you cook it, it will be this. I’m sure in a stir fry or a soup or a sauce you could drown out the taste, but it still won’t have the mouth feel of rice. That being said, I like hearts of palm and I don’t think this product tastes bad, and if it weren’t so expensive I would continue buying it. But cauliflower rice is way cheaper. It does not even remind me of rice, though. Only rice can be rice. Sigh.
