Genuine Leather Legends Journal - Hand made in the USA, Dark Brown

This journal turned out to be a perfect anniversary gift for my wife, being an English major, writer and habitual journal-keeper. The cover is high quality. I don't know if it's perfectly real leather (it probably is), but it feels like the real deal, and not like it's going to come apart. The pages are high-weight, handmade, and they looks awesome. The whole deal just begs to have epic stories or journals of high adventure kept in it. I might even get one for myself sometime, too!

The leather journal though smaller than anticipated is really nice to look at. The touch of the leather though, reveals lesser quality. It's supposed to represent raw hide, nicely worn rawhide, but it feels like a spongy cardboard. The parchment inside is nice, it looks rustic like the vintage that I thought the leather would represent. The parchment is bound really creatively, very much within historical context. My beef is the condition of the journal when it arrived, which by the way with Amazon Prime reached me in TWO days, great service guys!! Outside, the journal was perfect, inside the flap of the journal is a scratch about 2 inches long that is deep enough it took the color right off. Now the sellers told me to just apply Lexal leather cleaner to it. Maybe if it was for me, I would have tried that, but it's a gift and how would I return it if it didn't help the scratch but stained the journal? Besides, who wants a gift that's already scratched? Whoever packed the sucker didn't inspect it first?I'm overall just ticked off. I was going to write some poems with calligraphy and the birthday is on the 7th. Anybody laying bets on whether the replacement will get here in two days? But 2 day delivery from thursday probably means Monday delivery? Of course that gives me ONE day to get the gift ready. Amazon is great. I shop Amazon all the time, but this seller needs to watch what they ship.Joss

This journal was much smaller than I was expecting - which is my fault for not analyzing the measurements before buying. But, the pages being thick and in the leather binding make it awkward and difficult to write in.It's a neat, old-fashioned looking journal, but more for decoration than to actually use.

i bought this to keep my item list and adventurers stats for a tabletop game im running ti looks great and adds another level of reality to the game. about the construction.. its very sturdy real leather and good quality the paper is unlined and looks like old parchment paper its a great conversation piece. hope you like it as much as i do.

We were surprised at the small size of this journal even though it is genuine leather. Feel it's overpriced for what you receive. The picture is misleading. Thank you.

I rated this with three stars its what i paid for just not what i expected. It is very nice love the paper however i expected it to be more rugged. I would recommend to someone who wanted something nice to write in.

This is exactly what is advertised. The quality is very nice. I used it for a photo album with the sticky photo corners. The paper is nice natural color. The leather is clean and soft. It was perfect for my needs.
