I love my sleeves. Protection and warmth with a t shirt!!! We raise large dogs and they protect my arm from scratches when we play.

My husband loves these sleeves! He was constantly gouging himself while out working and with these light weight sleeves his arms are protected from cuts. Great addition to his hard hat & safety glasses while he is out working in the woods.

I would say for trying to avoid cuts maybe I haven't tried that yet. I may put them on the table first to test. If your trying to avoid pokes or stabs I don't recommend as you can poke threw the material. Great snug fit though don't have to worry about them falling off.
