I purchased these for niche hardware applications, but I can see how a craftsman, making custom keychains or charms would appreciate them. They arent at all expensive, and since the smallest lot I could find is a bag of 50, well, I now have enough to last the rest of my life.Be aware of the diameter. It's not so big that it prohibits you from putting keys in the small key pocket of your jeans, but it's not so small you need pliers to add a key.Probably has more applications than I can think of. But one thing I DONT recommend it for is binding notecards. If you've ever presented an exhibit with the assistance of a handful of 3x5 cards, you'll probably know what I mean. If you did try and use it for this purpose, it would likely tear up the cards as you try to attach them to the ring. For THAT purpose I'd recommend "Loose Leaf Binder Rings", also available on Amazon.JHA
