Full of bugs
The rice looks good but the bugs are not appetizing. So many bugs in the bag I put it outside, don't want them to get into kitchen (even though I received this today and it appears unopened). Even worse is that no return/refund option is offered, so I am stuck with $15 worth of buggy rice.

Royal Elephant Easy To Cook Rice – Aromatic & Authentic, Thai Jasmine Rice!
# My ReviewThis review is for Royal Elephant Premium Thai Jasmine Rice - 5lb. As someone who’s an avid food fan that’s always looking for alternate healthier options, this recommendation was a pleasant find. So, when I saw that Royal Elephant has a healthy rice (Non-GMO, naturally gluten free, and cholesterol free, that’s low in fat and sodium), I just knew it was worth a try.First of all, these were delivered in a strong clear 5lb bag with the identifiable Royal Elephant branding, and details about the product description, ingredients, nutritional details, usage, etc. on the front, and back. From a packaging stand-point it presents well and looks like a quality product. Upon opening the bag, there was a sweet aromatic aroma that packed a subtle fragrance in the air. Pouring the contents into a bowl, you see a clean and bright white rice grain – both of these experiences point to a good quality product. This rice is very versatile and can be used in many ways. The uniqueness of Thai rice is the authentic sweet taste that’s flavorful and aromatic. You can cook this in many ways; stove top, microwave, or rice cooker. Make sure you follow the instructions to keep with the rice to water ratio to avoid over / under cooking your rice. If cooked correctly, you end up with a white, fluffy and sweet tasting jasmine rice. We’ve made this to accompany Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes, and each time the rice didn’t disappoint.Overall, this is a wonderful choice for a rice option if you’re looking to be healthier with the benefits of low sodium and just a sweet and aromatic accompaniment! Royal Elephant Jasmine Rice
This is one of those times when I decided to try something new only to find out I’d had it before. I don’t know where as I’m a picky eater and have never eaten at a Thai restaurant.CONS: The instructions could use some measurements. It doesn’t tell you how much rice, water, or salt to use. I cook rice occasionally, but not enough to know what measurements to use. I had to reference a box of Uncle Ben’s. My rice turned out fine. It was fluffy and beautiful, but probably could have used more salt.My second complaint is about the packaging. Why not use a resealable bag? I know this is common for bags of rice, but that doesn’t make it right.3 STARS: The rice is fine, but I wasn’t crazy about it. I think there was anything special about the flavor or aroma. This is a personal preference. If you like jasmine rice, I’m sure you’ll love this.

as good as, but not necessarily better than, other store-bought brands of Jasmine rice
The media could not be loaded. Review of: Royal Elephant Jasmine Rice Pillow Pack, 5 PoundOver the last few years, I turned more and more to using a Jasmine rice as I, and my family, enjoy the taste and the aroma of Jasmine rice over long-grain/short grain white rice or even brown rice. And, for us, using Jasmine rice just seems to make the meal a little more special; especially with a little saffron added to the rice when the rice is cooking. As for the Royal Elephant Jasmine rice, in the 3 times or so that I’ve made a batch of rice with the Royal Elephant brand, I’ve found that this Jasmine rice is what I consider to be a good quality rice; at least as good as any Jasmine rice I’ve purchased in a local grocery chain. At the same time, however, I don’t consider this rice to be extraordinarily superior to any Jasmine rice I’ve had before. The taste of the Royal Elephant rice is good and almost semi-sweet, the texture is good and the rice does seem to come out nice and fluffy after cooking/resting, and, perhaps best of all, the distinctive aroma of the Royal Elephant brand of rice is spot on with what I expect to sense from a good quality Jasmine rice.I do wish, though, that the 5-pound bag of rice came in a resealable bag as that would be helpful; but I don’t consider that to be a major issue. And, in what I consider to be a bigger issue, I would prefer that the cooking instructions on the bag would be more complete. For example, in the stove-top cooking section, there was no mention of what the ratio of water/rice should be. The microwave section specified 2 cups of water for one cup of rice and that worked okay for me, but it would good to have the recommended cooking instructions spelled out a little better. In addition, the instructions for this rice call for a cooking time of 15 minutes followed by another 15 minutes of rest. For me, at least compared to how I normally cook Jasmine rice (15 minutes followed by 5 minutes rest) that does mean I have to keep the extra time in mind when preparing dinner; again, not a major issue. So, the bottom line for me, is that I consider the Royal Elephant brand is equal to but not necessarily better than the other brands of Jasmine rice I’ve tried before. If this review was helpful, please click the Helpful button below

Full of bugs
This Jasmine Rice is a product of Thailand; processed and packaged for SLT Foods Inc., Edison, N.J.The entire package was infested with a black bug and small grey larvae. I had to throw out the entire 5 lb. bag.
