So far I do like this brush. I used to the comb once, just to use it. It is small, so I could see carrying it to travel, but with long hair its impractical for every day. The brush does come with a hole, not a missing bristle. The company says its an air hole because when you push on the bristles you can feel the air decompress and then it fills again when you release. If you look carefully you can see there is a pattern to the bristles, and the hole does not fit this pattern. So for all the reviews saying it is missing a bristle, its not. I like that its made from sustainable bamboo. We could use more sustainable products in all of our lives. It claims to be 100% eco friendly, but I have no way to substantiate this claim.My only concern is that I did buy another product from velvet breeze in the past and it deteriorated. I decided I would give it another chance because I really did want a bamboo brush. I bought a comb previously and it is now separating and discolored (green). Even with proper care. This brush is not one solid piece of bamboo, its actually two pieces.As with any bamboo product, moisture will eventually damage it so you have to take care of it. The best way to do this is if you use it on wet hair make sure it is dry before putting it away in a dark closed space, and not storing it in your bathroom which is always full of moisture. If you take care of it a good quality brush should last a really long time.

I so wanted to absolutely love this brush. I don't. The brush pins are so highly polished (possibly varnished???) that I cannot see how they are able to pull oils from my scalp through my hair down the shaft. The pins are so shiny that I originally wondered whether they were plastic or wood. My husband checked for me by inadvertently breaking a pin. They are wood. Mystery solved. I still do not like this brush. It is not anti static. If anything, it actually causes MORE static. Even when I use the comb....static. There is so much air cushion under the pins that when brushing, the brush constantly makes a pffff-ing noise which is annoying & frankly, embarrassing. My husband likes the massage effect it has on his very balding head so I guess he can have it. I will look for another wood brush without balls on the pins & unquestioningly looks like wood.

I'm torn on what to write here because, at first, I absolutely loved this brush. It's the best one I've used in a long while. It's great at depositing natural sebum along the hair strands. However, after what is now over six months of use, my beloved brush is nearly unusable. The rubber part in which the bristles sit has come out of the wooden back. I tried using super glue to fix it, but to no avail. Also, a few bristles have come out, though I was able to pop them back in. I'm bummed because I really loved this brush, and now I have to find a new brand that won't break on me! My advice: if you're looking for a brush to help detangle hair (mine is below my shoulders and of medium thickness), look elsewhere. Overall, I love what it's supposed to do, but the craftsmanship is horrible and disappointing.UPDATE: Since writing this review, I've noticed that the rubber in which the bristles sit has literally started to disintegrate! I went to clean my brush the other day, and I ended up scraping up mushy rubber! So, not only have bristles fallen out and has the rubber padding come out of the wood, but the rubber has begun to deteriorate. I can't understand it. I'm changing my three stars to two.

Been using this brush for a couple of weeks, I've noticed a couple of things, One, it hasn't broken, (Either the bristles or the brush itself, as I have done to -many- brushes in the past, sometimes first use!) two, it doesn't snag horribly on my hair. My hair has always been super thick, and when it's overly dry it has a habit of knotting up really bad. I Will say I use this along side a boar bristle soft brush, to keep snags and knots to a minimum, but I must say it's working swell!

I wish I had found this brush years ago. Recently my hair has become dry and hard to untangle no matter which conditioner I use. I was encouraged to brush my hair more with a natural bristle brush. I wanted to avoid boar bristles so this Bamboo Hair Brush set was my first choice to try. I am delighted with how it untangles wet and dry hair and how my scalp feels during and after brushing. After only a few weeks, my hair is more manageable. I love the pretty box the brush and comb set were packaged in, too. Great value.

In another review of this brush I said the bristles were not wooden but platic. That was a mistake, they are in fact wooden. They are just covered wit a protective varnish from vegetable oil to protect them. I can't wait to start using my brush, see how my hair works with it. I also bought the wide toothed comb and love it!

The rubber often pops out of the hairbrush but goes back in easily. It doesn't rip out as much of my hair as a normal plastic brush does. The bristles are sturdy and all still in the brush which is impressive because I lose them frequently from a normal brush. The comb is great quality.

Used to have very thick hair and I am only 50, but I am having my hair begin to thin. Here’s what is important re: the perhaps overwhelmingly lovely packaging which contained the Bamboo Brush and Comb. It’s lost quite a few <2 but >12 bristles from the hollow rubber base they’re stuck in, like golf tees. After less than three months. Did I mention you can turn the box into a deluxe box for gloves or whatever? It’s just that nice.
