Proven Insect Repellent Lotion – Protects Against Mosquitoes, Ticks and Flies - 6 oz, Odorless 2-Pack2

We live near water in central FL . Mosquitos and biting midge flys (Noseums) are a real nuisance most of the year. Bought this lotion after a river guide recommended it to me. It doesn’t have much fragrance, no greasy residue, it’s easy to rub in and best part, it really works. For hours!! Even over night in the swamp, I never have to worry when I use Proven Insect repellant. I highly recommended.

I am a mosquito magnet. This is the best insect repellent I have ever used. It has no scent, it goes on and absorbs quickly. It works all day!

It does go on a bit greasy, as with any lotion, but it does quickly dry.

A great repellent for mosquito and biting flies

I bought this product to take with us on a tropical vacation as an alternative to DEET products. Nothing like going to a restaurant and smelling like Deep Woods Off. A little skeptical so took the DEET as a back up, but this stuff works. There is a slight smell (to me) when I put it on but quickly fades. You can tell you have applied it but it's not sticky like DEET and NO SMELL. And the best part? It works. I used it in Belize and now use it at home. We have chiggers (if you do not know what those are, well, count yourself lucky. They are the itty-bitty, spawns of Satan that embed in your skin in places NOTHING should embed in (pantylines, crotch area, underboobs, anywhere that is hot and... uhm, humid) and itch 100x more than a mosquisto bite. However when I remember to put this on - NO CHIGGER bites (no mosquitos either except where I didn't apply). I have taken to putting it on my legs every morning so when I'm chasing my dog through the daisies, I'm safe. Really can't recommend it enough. Can't speak to tick repellant as that isn't a huge issue where I live. Going to try the spray next as I can then spray on clothes for when I'm thrashing through the brush and trees after my wayward mutt. I don't know about water resistance, I reapplied when I came out of the ocean. I never got bit by the sand fleas/flies that plagued my first trip to Belize however. It does wash off OK. From my research, Picaridin can be toxic to fish in large quantities and isn't good for salamanders but "seems" to be 'safer' than DEET. But I'm not a scientist so don't come at me about how wrong I may be. I'm just a dog mom and traveler that found this product to work well for my needs.

This product was recommended by a friend. I recently moved to the south where mosquitos and bugs are in abundance. This product goes on your skin like lotion, so instead of applying lotion to my hands and legs, I apply a light coat of proven. So far, I have been fortunate to not get eaten by bugs. I have been using this for 3 weeks and so far, I’m loving it. I have only tested it in grass areas and normal pavement walking. I have not taken to hiking trails yet, but I am hopeful. There isn’t a smell, as it is unscented..however, there is a little “something” to a smell. It does not bother me. You can also add a little drop of essential oil if you like. Overall, very pleased. I have recommended this to several friends who have been starting to use this product.
