who knew
I have been suffering from Sciatica for the last month or so.. It got so bad couldnt sleep well and when i got in and out of a car i thought i would puke or pass due to the pain in my butt and leg.. I was at my wits end.. Im thinking doctors, chiropractor.. I sell wine and i cant take a day off this time of year.. So i bought this little wedge thing.. I saw it was highly reviewed so i said well 20 bucks what the heck.. It came today right before dinner.. i looked where to place it.. sat on it at the table.. OMG OMG. i think i felt a cachunk in my back.. where the last week I have had to stand to eat cause sitting on the wooden chair brought a tear to my eye.. now i can sit. I finished dinner and had to run to the store.. Now as i have said getting in and out of a car has been the worst.. I mean total screaming pain.. Went to the store.. I didnt remember getting in and out of the car.. This is after sitting on the wedge for 15 minutes. not doing the recommended stuff.. just sitting on it. later i was sitting in "my chair" phone rang. the last two weeks would have gotten a huge grunt.. nope got up no pain.. I cant wait to get on this thing and do the stretches.. I will say also- the pain i had was the worst and i have a HUGE pain threshold-- I spent 5 days in the hospital for 2 plus degree burns over 30 percent of my body.. No pain meds during debridement. I would rather have that again than this pain i have had.. Fortunatly this thing works and i cant recommend it enough. cant wait to get into they laying on it and stretching.. I can move my legs again without pain.. FIVE STARS EASY

Does align pelvis
The Sacro Wedgy does align my pelvis. It is hard feeling on my body, however. Granted, I don't have much "padding". I have placed some material over it to soften it, and can last about 8 minutes before it gets too uncomfortable. Although I am certain it must position the pelvis more optimally, I can get a similar action by laying on a softly inflated "Mirable Ball". As I work with it more, I will most likely find something better to lay over it to make it more comfortable.

Wasn’t right for me
I’m a 5’10 female with long torso, and I got the male version. I’ve had SI joint dysfunction, and was looking for an option to reset the joint. I was committed to seeing this experience through. Ultimately, it was an expensive failure. Laying on it was excruciating, and my body never relaxed enough to release. Repeated efforts and adjustments to the set-up and positioning did not help. I gave it my best effort, but this was a complete fail and disappointment for me.

Effective at loosening muscles of the pelvis
I purchased the Sacral Wedgy on the recommendation of another long-distance runner that I know. Both of us were suffering from a pain that felt like sciatica...kind of a dull, throbbing pain that runs along the bottom of the hip joint. When I first used the Sacral Wedgy, it caused me to have a very painful lower back and I was concerned that it may not be for me. But after the next use, I started to find that it relieved the pain in my hip joint. I have used it for over a month, and feel that periodic use of this device is helping to alleviate the pain that I had before, and I no longer get any other effects on my lower back from it.

Have to use it right
I have been using the Sacro Wedgy for about two weeks now. I have been experiencing sacral/hip problems for about two years. I have worked with yoga, other stretching, consulted a chiropractor and other doctors, and bought an inversion table. All provided relief to some degree, but for some reason never could alleviate the problem, yet x-rays and examinations were not showing any significant problems (welcome to the msyteries of back/hip pain).Within two days of using this simple device, I was able to isolate the cause of my back problem. I sat on the sacro wedgy for a day in my office chair and felt everything in my pelvis/hip relax, the pain disappeared. I was very happy...then I got in my car to go visit some clients and run some errands. It felt like someboy stuck a hot knife into my lower back and twisted it by the end of the day. Bingo! When I was in my 20's I had an old pickup truck that caused sciatica, which vanished within a week of my replacing that vehicle. However, this wasn't sciatica, and the link was immediately apparent and the car is only 2 years old...the pieces started to fall together. It was my car seat that was causing my problem. My car is a small compact car, and I never noticed any overt discomfort from it, but I made some adjustments to it, and used the sacro wedgy until I started feeling relief. For the first time in two years, I am 95% pain free and improving. My recommendation to people looking at this product is to read the instructions very carefully and really feel with your body where it should be placed. It takes a little experimentation to get it right, and I am sure it changes for each person in question. I have found it more effective to actually sit on it on my sofa, office chair, and elsewhere than the the lying down application, although that helps too.Next, check all your regular seating against the results. If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with tight psoas and iliacus and/or sacral tenderness (do a search on these), then this thing will help you, but what I found most amazing is how quickly it helped me identify the culprit (car seat) and how subtle that problem was. Yet, it was able to put a severe kink in my life for quite some time.I have a lot of experience with martial arts, body work, etc., and had tried several paths to relief, I am very aware of my body. So, you might want to speak with a good specialist who can help you with the use of this if you don't have a good sense for your own body. If you use it wrong, it will hurt and could make things worse. However, with proper use it could really help.I don't think this device will help people too much with middle and upper spine issues, but I could be wrong, the back is a complex and wonderful thing. So, good luck, I hope this review helps people with the sacro wedgy and possibly opens up some ideas for people to find relief.

Undecided
Came as described but with too many additional instructions which were a little confusing. Not as easy to place as I thought and still not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Usually sore. Will keep trying for another week.

I saw some good reviews on this product and thought "why not
I saw some good reviews on this product and thought "why not?" I have had some chronic low back issues related to my sacrum and have gotten relief from using foam rollers and other trigger point devices. To my disappointment, the Sacro Wedgy did nothing for me. Before buying this, try duct taping two lacrosse or tennis balls together to make a homemade "peanut." I find this to be a more effective tool for my low back pain and it is more versatile.
