Awesome quality, even better customer support!
I ordered this dresser as "Used" from Amazon so I figured it would be at minimum scuffed up/missing parts. Received it in very good condition, unfortunately the box wasn't taped back up very well and when the driver delivered it, there was a huge hole in the corner and parts had spilled out onto the floor. I got it assembled about 85% of the way when I realized I was missing a whole set of tracks for at least 2 drawers as well as a handful of random screws.I contacted South Shore and they had replacement parts shipped out to me the next day, no questions asked! Very satisfied with this company and their product.

Price matches quality
It’s really great for the price, the instructions are clear to understand. My only suggestion is if you have carpet the base is really not stable. You are instructed to fix it to the walls w/ screws which is not renter friendly. This was an easy fix for me…I simply did not add the base, I have a platform bed so it actually works perfectly.

Don’t listen to the mix reviews
*If you’re having doubts please read this.*I was really hesitant on whether to get this or not because of all the mixed reviews and the ones saying it was a piece of crap. But I decided to go with my gut and get it and I was not disappointed here’s why:1. First of all yes it is not fast to assemble but it is only because it takes a lot of steps and attention to detail. The instructions are perfectly marked step-by-step. really there’s no way to get lost you just need to read and look at the pictures. So those people saying the instructions are terrible never assembled anything before . were you expecting it to take 5 minutes ?! Obviously not . I did it by myself it took me 2.5 hours and it came out perfect .2. Second of all; yes, the material might not be from West Elm but you get what you pay for… it is a decent quality and for the money it’s a great value. I am sure this is gonna last me a long time if I take care of it. Don’t buy something for $200 expecting to be a $2000 dresser . Be realistic !3. It is a little wobbly that part is true and I am not sure why but that’s not something I particularly care about . It’s not like it moves around it’s just that the bottoms are not as flat on the floor for some reason . Not a big deal .4. One of my pieces was indeed damage but I was lucky enough for it to be the bottom part it wasn’t a big deal either I am 100% sure this has nothing to do with the product but the way that’s handled. the package is extremely heavy and it needs two people to lift it so it probably gets roughly handled in transit … my piece was scratched not broken or anything but I was a big scratch.5. As an advise for you to a assemble it easier I will recommend you to take a deep look at them materials listen BEFORE assembling. A lot of them look a like so you gotta know which one is which before starting or you’ll get really confuse. Separate the big pieces and the screws in categories before you start .* I am extremely happy with my purchase and I love the way it looks *

Receiving wasn't perfect, but the end product is exactly what I wanted.
It's not my first time buying and building South Shore furniture, so I would say I have realistic expectations of the product and a good understanding of how South Shore functions as a business. If you like the way a South Shore product looks and this is what is in your budget, buy it, if you can accept the fact that a bundle of fiberboard traveling from warehouse to your doorstep is sketchy, you are willing to take the time to work with South Shore's customer service in the case that something is broken or missing from your package, and you are willing to take the time to give your full attention to reading the instructions and building the product. As long as you can commit to those things, I highly recommend buying South Shore for the high style for the price point. If you can't, you need to see your local furniture store instead.I had a rocky start with the receiving part of this transaction, but that is partly the fault of the package handler (UPS) and partly the fault of how South Shore packages these things. Somewhere along the way my box took a good sharp hit on one of the corners, and one cardboard box and some saran wrap weren't enough to keep fiberboard safe. The damage was mostly cosmetic, but the damage affected 8 pieces total, including the top and bottom piece, so I reached out to customer service to replace them (and at the time, I only noticed the damage on 5 of the 8 pieces). It took a while to get my replacements, but I got them, and that was all that mattered to me. During construction, I unfortunately noticed small chips on all of the small drawers. I could have reached out again to replace those, but I just sighed, colored in the chips, and put it all together anyway. With that experience in mind, I would recommend that you consider ordering from South Shore directly. I got my replacement parts via FedEx, so I would assume that they use FedEx for all their deliveries. I have traditionally had better luck receiving delicate packages from FedEx than UPS.Even though I had a bad time receiving the product, that doesn't mean the product is bad, so I still very much recommend it if you want a dresser in this style. Once I had all my parts, putting it together was a breeze. I enjoy the dark gray color, the unique offset drawer handles, and the subtle texture. The metal slides for the drawers glide smoothly. I also really liked the different sizes of drawers, something I had a very hard time finding in other dresser options. The little bit of damage that I missed that I just hid with the stipple marker aren't obvious.

Well constructed and great design
4 stars based mostly on how good it looks and how well constructed it is...However, it lost a star for me because of the child-safety bump... I would recommend making a version without this feature for people that don't have or babysit kids. The bump they included in the rails that is supposed to prevent kids from climbing. The rails are quiet and smooth in it's operation but the bump forces you to lift the drawer when it's pulled out half way or you'll not be able to expose the back of the drawer. This actually undermines how smooth and quiet the rail can be when pulled in and out. But because of the child-safety bump in the middle of each rail, you never notice it because you're busy lifting the drawer to travel over the speed bump.If you don't lift the drawer slightly half way, then you have to pull harder. This causes the drawer to tip if it's not mounted against a wall. But if it is mounted, pulling harder to bypass the speed bump causes the whole thing to shake. If the drawer is mounted to drywall only, it'll eventually pop out from having to tug the drawers pass the speed bump. The legs make it so this isn't sturdy on a carpet. So, if you plan to put this in a room with a carpet also plan to mount the back to a stud in the wall. Make sure to locate a wood beam to mount the back to because if you're in a rush and happen to pull on the drawer hard and fast without lifting it (to avoid the child-safety bump), then you'll eventually tug the screw from the draw-wall.I didn't, at first, understand the design of the legs.. I guess I still don't... but I did notice that there's room in the back for wires and cables to pass cleanly between the back of the legs and the wall.Notes on assembly:Although, it's not complicated to put together... it does take a lot of work and time. Make sure to prepare to be turning a lot of screws and using a lot of elbow grease. Take a break half way or eat a big meal before hand with a lot of coffee. If you have a buddy to help you, this can speed things up.I don't recommend rushing through this and follow the steps in the order they are given to avoid wasting the time of in-doing mistakes. So, clear your schedule for this task. Expect to spend at least 3-4 hours if you're doing this by yourself. Oh... if you have a lot of room to work, this will help cut time too. You won't have to keep moving things around.
