Mr. Brog Tobacco Pipe Lighter with Tamper & Pick - All in One - Model LGHT05

I've tried other old Boys in this price range and have been disappointed but thought I'd give Mr.Bog a try. For the money this is one solid and well put together lighter. Lighter longevity is a challenge, no matter how much you spend, piezo's fail, Rubber washers need replacing and there's the inevitable soot that needs cleaning.The flint ignition solves the inevitable piezo replacement but sometimes they can be wearing on the fingers. This is not the case with this lighter, it's effortless & surprisingly comfortable.The lid is easy to open with the thumb for one hand ignition, someone complained about this suggesting there may be QC issues which can be expected at this price. This will only improve with wear & time I'd bet.After ~600 ignitions, 25 refills I have no leaks or issues. When the tank is nearing empty the flame will increase which I consider a nifty indicator it's near refill time. This lighter will build up soot quickly since I use it with a pipe. With each refill I use a q-tip & alcohol to clean it. When this lighter fails it will most likely be with the nozzle seal leaking from wear where soot would be a primary catalyst.Time will tell how long this lighter will last but so far it's looking like an exceptional value.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  At first it didn’t light all the time. I had ti refill it often and adjust the flame height. I also had to adjust my grip and how I would light it. When using my thumb, I would burn off my knuckle hair (lol) and it was uncomfortable. So I changed to using my index finger to light it, it helps and also is in the right position to light my pipe. After a week of trial it seems to work with more reliability than before. Not the same as a Bic, but really close

Out of the box this Mr. Brog Old Boy style lighter works as well as any of the Old Boy style lighters I have, some considerably more expensive. The feel of the lighter and working of the mechanism meets every expectation. While I cannot speak to longevity at this point I can state at this point in time it works very well for me.

I ordered this lighter and had trouble with it holding butane. The seller contacted me to make sure I was pleased with my purchase and I informed them I was having trouble. They were very easy to communicate with via email and asked if I would like a refund or another lighter. I asked for a replacement and they immediately sent me out a new one. The new one is working great. Nice little lighter so far for the price and very pleased with the seller.

I bought this as a gift for my brother in law who always gives me great and thoughtful gifts. Unfortunately I didn't get to see him for a few weeks after it arrived and when he did finally get it and fill it up it immediately leaked all the fluid out. I have rarely been so disappointed with a product. If you want my advice, do not waste your money.

Way cool. When one opens the too cap the butane comes on and stays on until the cap is once again lowered. Adjustable from very small flame to a mini flame thrower. Has a variety of pipes etched in as a design. Looks nice. Feels good in hand. Works great. Still trying to figure out how they get the tamper to work this way. You can thumb it out to an extended position while still attached to the lighter and it will stay there till you twist it and it comes out as a poker. Then it goes back in all the way.

At this price-point, I was concerned that it would not operate the same or would not be reliable. It holds a substantial amount of butane, and it easily lights my pipe each and every time. However, if you are in a chilly area, you might want to keep it in a pocket close to your skin to keep it warm. Then it lights reliably. If it gets cold, the pressure goes down and the flame is not maintained. But enjoyable to carry and use.

I thought the lighter was defective at first and sent it back. But when the second one showed exactly the same issue, I finally figured it out: the standard butane refill nozzle fits PERFECTLY on the valve stem of the lighter. So perfectly that it seems like it's made to size. But the the refill nozzle does not engage the lighter's valve when pushed. When I finally tried it with one of the refill's included adapters, it worked great.Great value, but small design oversight with the refill valve.

First time I used it, it exploded into flame burning me and my clothing. I complained to Amazon and the supplier. I sent it back and there was no further word.

Not good at all, I thought that because of the size of the flame it was burning butane very quickly. Then I came to fill it for the sixth time in two weeks after buying it and noticed that the gas was escaping from the fill valve. By the time I realised the problem it was too late to return. Now I'm left with a totally useless item because I have to fill it if I want to use it.

Worked well to begin with, looks nice and lights well. But before long it began leaking and now leaks constantly so can no longer use.

Really nice lighter, now i'm use to it, the mechanism on it's easy on my thumb & I like the way I don't have to hold down a 'presser' for the gas to flow (you just flick the cap up).

As good as any old boy. Also if you can purchase it directly from the vendor sometimes you can get 15% off but I believe that USA only.For the price it's a phenomenal piece.
