10X10" Wooden Chess Set Folding Magnetic Travel Chess Board Game With Storage For Chessmen

Was a gift for our young son. He loves it!

The finishing is slick and smooth, looks good, but the magnets in the pieces are week and uneven, when gently spinning the board upside down 3 pieces always fall, if you give a little shake another 4 fall, all others are ok, but it doesnt help, does it?

I wasn't expecting much from this set for the price, but it is quite well made, especially the board/box. A lot of similar sets have boards that don't line up properly at the center seam or that have loose hinges. This one is well made in that regard. The pieces are simple but adequate. I also like that it is magnetic, but not super strong magnetic--just enough force to keep the pieces in place. They could still be knocked off the board like happens when my dog puts her big snout into the game. Happy with this set, and I feel it will stand the test of time.

It is a nice looking chess set, however I am slightly disappointed that it doesn’t lay flat and level. The magnets are fair, but don’t seem to be very strong like they are in other sets I have looked at.

I like having a chess set on my desk, but I was always bumping the pieces and disturbing the game, so I bought this magnetic set. It's the perfect size--small enough to not take up too much space on my desk, but big enough so that the pieces are a comfortable size to place with. The quality of the wooden board is excellent, which folds into a perfect size for traveling. I've bumped the board many times, and the pieces stay put. Love it!
