Handcrafted Wooden Jewelry/Keepsake Box with Lid - Small Wood Storage Chest Vintage Look (8 x 5)

I waited 6 weeks after delivery to write this. The box stinks. Other have noted a bad smell. So I tried to wait it out. When I opened the package I saw the carving and box assembly was crude, but the price was very low, so crude was expected. The smell took me a while to identify. Finally I related it to the aroma when I changed the oil in my gas lawn mower. The smell of old motor oil. I suspect the box was soaked in used motor oil to stain the wood and make it softer for ease of carving. I put the open box outdoors on my apartment balcony, exposed to sun and wind for this entire six weeks. I did bring it in when the weather was rainy or potentially rainy. It still smells. I put it into a small cardboard box overnight yesterday. I opened the box this morning and the smell hit me again. I purchased it to contain some fragile handmade jewelry to ship as a gift to an address a thousand miles away. I wanted something nicer and more protective during shipping. This box looks ideal, but the reality is that I suspect the aroma when the shipping container is removed will ruin any joy produced by the actual contents. Just glad the price was so low and I can write it off as educational.

This little box arrived very neatly packaged. The carvings are actually a bit more intricate than the picture indicates. The top has a good tight fit when closed. I am overall very satisfied with my purchase, definitely a steal for this price!

This box is even more beautiful than the picture displays. I love all the detailed carvings and the wood itself is gorgeous; it even smells exotic. I was especially impressed with the seller including a set of beautiful beaded earrings as a special gift. Very much appreciated when vendors go out of their way to satisfy their customers. 5 stars all the way!

So, unsure of what to give a teenage younger sister, I got a little creative- I gathered some old pieces of Jewelry that I knew I would never wear and placed them inside the box. I loved seeing her joy as she opened this gift!
