Fits 98 Baja 272 Islander
This fuel sender works great and is accurate. It was a perfect replacement for my 98 Baja 272 Islander boat fuel tank sender.

Works as intended
I replaced the original sending unit in my boat gas tank due to old one not reading correctly, due to it not being long enough in the tank. This one is longer and reads correctly. It has been on the tank for a year and has worked perfectly. No complaints

Buy this fuel sender unit. You will not be disappointed !
I like that it worked. Best part is that the shaft is made of stainless steel. My old fuel tank sender unit was plastic and junk. As you can see from the pic, the plastic one bent and failed. I had no functioning gas gauge. This new one was so easy to install. No issues with lining up the gasket and holes. Only complaint I had was that the screws supplied were fine thread. And the tank accepted standard size threaded screws. I was able to use the old ones. I tested it out and the gauge works. Seems very accurate as well. Great float system. Much better than those bobber type fuel sensors. I would def recommend getting this. I bought the 8” one because my tank is 10” deep. I prefer to know that I have enough fuel in reserve. I would def buy this again. High quality. Price was great and it arrived at my door in less than 24 hrs. Delivered by Amazon. USPS would have taken almost 5 days to deliver. Satisfied customer here. And I never leave reviews. That’s how much I like this product

Great replacement fuel gauge!
This gauge was easy to set up and easy to configure for whatever fuel level sensor you have. Even if you don't know the Ohm range of your sensor, you can hook up this gauge and try the different settings until you find the proper one. I highly recommend hooking up the new gauge and sensor on the bench first! That allows you to easily test both gauge and sensor and configure it prior to reinstalling.I love the expanded gauge markings on the face making it easier to get a more accurate idea of fuel level. My one and only complaint is the connector on the back is not sealed and would definitely allow moisture to collect inside. I ended up slathering on sealant to make it more moisture resistant after plugging in the connector. Now my only remaining task is to decide what color to set the backlight!

I have gas!
I figured out that the sender on my 2008 Sea Hunt failed because the float stopped floating (the actual sender works fine). I tried contacting WEMA/KUS about a replacement because I think it’s silly to have to purchase the entire sender when it’s just a $2 float that has failed. Apparently the float gets saturated and eventually no longer floats in gas. That’s unacceptable product quality IMHO especially since my boat is 14 years old, pretty young in boat years. Well, shocker, KUS wouldn’t replace the float (on closer inspection it’s not really possible to replace only the float) or the unit so I came to Amazon for this replacement. My tank is 11” deep and had a 9” sender on it. For the replacement I decided to purchase the 9.5” sender, which still leaves more than the recommended 1” space underneath. I felt this would give me just a bit more of an accurate reading. As others have said, on a boat anything below 1/4 tank of gas should be considered empty. You’ll probably need to splice the wires so you can use the factory harness. Be sure to use marine grade waterproof connectors with heat shrink. I used 14-16 gauge connectors. As with most things on a boat don’t skimp on this part because you don’t want a bad electrical connection below deck around the gas tank and water/moisture! For added protection I wrapped the connectors in electrical tape. The blue wire on the sender is ground for those who don’t like instructions. I even tested it before the install, manually moving the float and could see the gauge moving smooth as silk. This unit comes with 5 screws but I used my original screws since the threads don’t appear to match. This product works as it should and I hope it lasts me at least 10 years. Will post an update if I have any issues.
