This beacon worked perfectly for detecting occupancy status with my home automation system. I used this together with an app called Geofency. Extremely easy to program. Vey well built and sturdy unit. When using the iOS app it does not ask for any permissions as mentioned in another review. I would highly recommend this unit.

Works as advertised.The iphone app does the basics = set transmit power, interval, etc.When you start you need to press the button hidden behind the "major minor" label on the side (until Blue light comes on) .Moved that label to the bottom.To save new settings you need to enter the default password (minew123).

i have been looking for a programmable bluetooth beacon with an extended range. This beacon which is sold as a service by another company is a solidly built programmable beacon. It has an extended range and is programmable through an app (i have used both the android and IOS app). You need to have an understanding of bluetooth and IBeacon if you want to use this product. I suggest looking at the app in advance (BeaconSET+) to get an understanding of what it will do. One of the other reviews provides the default password which will be required to login to the device.

This a a solid iBeacon device. Set up with the app was easy. The build quality seems very solid. It even comes loaded with batteries.I did a lot of research and there isn't any iBeacon device. The price is lower than the other stand-alone iBeacon devices. Highly recommend.

I'm not a dummy when it comes to tech. I did my research online... I cannot get this device to connect. I'm not giving up, I'm going to change my review if I can figure it out. My device did not come with directions and the ones online are not good enough

If you don't know what you're doing with beacons, don't buy this. I've purchased several beacons and most do not come with instructions or guides. I'm not saying that this product is a dud, but if you don't know what you're doing, this is just an expensive paper weight.

Looks well made but I can't make it work. No manuals or real support was included on the package. Back and for email but no solution for a single initial setup. I spend two hours on web looking for Factory default password and still not sincronizing with the App

Do not buy this. There are very serious privacy concerns with the app used to configure it. The BeaconSET application (the Android version, at least) requires many unnecessary permissions including retrieving the apps you are running, read sensitive log data, get your precise location, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage, full network access, use your camera to take pictures and videos (it can take pics and transfer them without your knowledge), read phone status and identity, etc. As an Android app developer, I can assure you these are absolutely unnecessary for beacon configuration; needs Bluetooth and that's pretty much it. Their inclusion is a likely ploy to violate your privacy to a faceless, Chinese entity. I'd stay far away.
