Gamblin Artist Oil Color - Flake White Replacement - 150 ml Tube

Very nice paint. It is thicker than Titanium white but still soft and usable. It is perfect for mixing flesh tones, so I am using it for figure and portrait painting.

Flake white replacement is a good choice if you need the paint to lay down and stop glare from happening.

At first I didn’t like this. I felt it was too stiff but the more I worked with it, the more I fell in love with it. It is really thick and tacky but thins down well with liquin.

Oil paints are so hard to find in the way you just like them...

Good texture, proper opaqueness and mixing quality...

This is a pretty goopy, stringy, white that is pretty sheer. I guess I wasn’t expecting that. I bought it as a recommendation for an upcoming course so it will be interesting to learn more about how to use it.

Flake White is softer than the harshness of Titanium White. This has the same exact ingredients and looks the same as the Gamblin Titanium White that I also bought. Now I have 2 tubes of the same color. This is a misrepresentation and I'm disappointed with Gamblin.

I bought this to save on the expensive flake white. But the paint is so without oil and slip that I gave up. Don't buy it
