Pica 30402 Marker Kit and Lead Case 4020

The leads are harder than normal pencils and last a while. The tip sharpener works well and the marking is very visible and easy to mark with. Overall Im happy and would recommend this product. Im am a professional licensed electrician and use this to mark most surfaces including EMT, PVC, RIDGID, Metal/Plastic Enclosures, Wood, AND Masonry. Also the marking will stay in place, but can also be rubbed off most smooth finishes if necessary. It may be a little pricey but for my uses it has been a good value.

Accept no substitutes. You wouldn't think there would be that much difference between pencils, but Pics will make clear smudge proof marks on any surface while other pencils that claim the same ability will either rub right off or just not mark at all. If you work with multiple materials including dark colors or composite colors/materials where regular pencils don't mark well or you can't see the mark well, Pica is a must have. They're the best quality overall too so even for regular wood and other basic jobs, these are still the best by far and the leads, while not cheap, last way longer than any other brand so it evens out.

amazing product. I have been doing construction for over 40 years and this is one thing that I will never be without. So nice not having to grab a blade to sharpen a broken lead.

I like the design, size and usability of the pencil works well

Design is great. The holder is perfect, attachs solidly to fabric or tool pouch and pencil clicks in and holds solidly. Sharpener is a nice feature, would be nice to have an eraser incorporated somewhere. Pencil is spot on for my hand size and the action is good. Only con for me, as a finish carpenter is the lead - too thick and needs sharpening too frequently IMO, but should be good for framers etc. I see Pica has a 0.9mm, which I’m trying out next (not sure if its on Amazon yet). Hopefully the Pica dudes will sensibly bring the price down, as there are a bunch of competitors in the field. Great product though, giving it a 4 for personal requirements, but its a 5 for the right application

Best pencil on the job site.

I bought the knock off a few times before I spent the money for a real pica, now I wish I did it sooner! First off there lead and colors marking are maybe 3x better contrast and will actually mark on objects the other crap brands won't, 2nd off their lead does not snap off as easy as the knock off do, the pica cap stay in place and having the easy pocket holder is probably the best thing, you can drop it into the holder and it stays put, while the other brand you have to force it and it might stay if your lucky. The only thing I'm not happy with is the sharpener blade, I might have got a defect, or their design is muck, but ever time I tried sharpening the lead, it catches funny and just snaps, in started using the shapes that came with the knock off, seems to work much better. I'm still sold on the product and will buy more, as it's faster and easier to use then others.. to pica engineering team, look at adding a built in sharpener in the inside, so you do not have to remove to sharpener.

Great pencil for the Carpenter. However on a hot day in Australia the crayons melt inside the pencil and ruin the pencil permanently. I cannot remove the crayon or insert a new refill. I'd use pica again if they replace my product but I wouldn't use the crayons again in Australia.
