One of the best things I bought on Amazon
After using FID benches for years, I decided to move to a flat bench. The first one I got was okay, but after a couple years, I wanted something that had a wider pad. I bought one that we returned, and the same night we returned it, I ordered this one, the Steelbody Deluxe Versatile Rated 800 lbs Flat Utility Workout Bench.I'll be honest. I've owned a few pieces of Marcy fitness equipment, and they're okay considering price and size, but when I saw that Steelbody ws an Impex/Marcy brand, I had a moment of concern. Still, the reviews were enthusiastic, and the bench looked like exactly what I was looking for, so I thought "Why not?"This bench ticked every box on my list. Our workout area isn't large, so we wanted something not too long, and the pad on this bench is 43", but it's wider than most, which I very much prefer. And it's wider on one end than the other, which makes it more versatile. The pad is firm but has some give on the top, and the cover is fairly thick with some texture. Everything metal is strong and sturdy, and the rubber feet stick to our hardwood floor well. The handle is also well-placed and the wheels work well. And it was easy to build. It has no smell of any kind.In fact, so far this Steelbody Deluxe Flat Utility Workout Bench is exactly what I was looking for. It's comfortable, sturdy and stable, and it's easy to roll to a corner, closet or the side of the room. One side of the pad is 12" wide, the other is 15" wide, and that leads me to one more thing I really appreciate - the description and measurements of the bench are accurate. This is a big thing, as most benches I've tried make inaccurate claims, exaggerate or leave things out of their descriptions.I've been through a number of benches, mostly more expensive than this one, but this one really delivers on what I was looking for. For those looking for a wider flat bench that's sturdy, stable, comfortable and reasonably priced, this is one I'd recommend.

Best Cheap Bench On The Market?
I've tried many of benches, some costing over $500, some as less than $70. I like what I like and this bench does it all almost perfectly. First, I like smaller, lower benches. I'm 6'1" and this bench fits fine. It's low - perfect for benching and helps make it more stable. Speaking of stable, this is a beast - no wobble at all, zero. I hate when benches do that, this doesn't at all. Next, is the weight capacity. I'm 230lb and bench about that. No chinzy 400lb bench will cut it. This has an 800lb weight capacity- way more than I'll reach. I also like wheels, but the wheels need to be under the bench, not protruding beyond the bench (it gets in the way of the cage). These wheels are perfect. Again, the ladder back adjustable benches are so much better than the other styles - simple and stable. The only 2 things I have issues with this bench are the gap between the seat and back pad is on the large side. I'm fine with it, I just stick a cut pool noodle in the gap and don't feel a thing. Second, it's Steelbody and their use of brown paint. Why brown of all colors? Just use all black or some other colors like red or blue.Next, this bench is better than the Power Block FID bench that costs more (it wobbles and it too thin for benching). It's better than almost all the Bowflex benches (higher weight capacity, more stable and smaller). I dare say this compares to the Rep adjustable bench that costs a lot more). Overall, I would highly recommend this bench to any lifter. It's a great product at a great price. FYI, I currently use it in my Rogue S-2 stand and Titan T-3 rack. No issues.

Sturdy, stable, comfortable, and very reasonable.
This bench is as strong and sturdy as any professional gym bench costing much, much more. Comfortably padded and stable, it's a great addition to my home gym.

Questioning the weight rating.
Feels pretty sturdy, fairly simple assembly (need to source your own wrench/ socket for the hex head bolts holding the feet to the frame)Pad isn't too thick, but its very firm, a major upgrade from the old rusting apart adjustable bench I was left by a family member. The narrow section of the bench is spaced perfectly to give full range of motion for my arms.I don't know how trustworthy the weight capacity is, there are a few sections on the feet/bracing that aren't fully welded around, having welds on 2 sides out of the 4, see pictures. For where I'm at, and what I'll be doing, it should suffice until I start getting closer to 300lbs on bench.

Well built utility bench
This is a very nice bench for the money. It's sturdy and compact. The welds are solid and the padding is firm. They used good components and hardware. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, well built utility bench.

5’11”+ PEOPLE READ THIS!
I’m giving this bench 5 stars because the quality is there. It’s sturdy and feels genuinely built to last. That being said, I ran into a few issues:1. As seen in the photo attached, the back pad came with a deep stain on it. It looks like oil or blood, and I haven’t been able to get it out.2. The instructions were HORRIBLE. I built an entire home gym before setting up this bench and none of their instructions were nearly as bad. The way each part is labeled, and the way the instructions go through each step is so poorly done that it took me at least twice as long as it should have to set up.3. The main back pad feels too short. I was worried about this, but a few reviews convinced me I should give it a shot. When in the upright position, the back of the bench only goes up to the base of my neck. It makes it impossible to have my head resting in the proper position while doing any incline chest press or overhead pressing movements. If you’re 6’+ and having your head resting on press movements is important to you, or if you want a bench with easy instructions, then you may want to look elsewhere. If none of these things bother you and you’re shorter than 5’11”, this bench is built to last, heavy and has little to no wobble.
