Twitch

Good fiction book for all the bird lovers

MG Leonard is a brilliant children’s author and writes gripping stories full of adventure and mystery. Twitch is the first in a series of novels about a young birdwatcher - the eponymous Twitch - who, along with a group of friends, ends up solving a crime. The whole series is great, which my kids enjoyed immensely as a bedtime story.

We received it as a birthday gift and now have bought it for another friend as a birthday gift. They loved it as well!

Truly enjoyed reading this book

The mixture of accurate, detailed bird facts with an escaped convict on the run is compelling for kids, and possibly associated adults! There are twists in the plot worthy of Agatha Christie, but the way children, and particularly the hero, Twitch, stand brave and firm will inspire many young readers.

This was so good not only was there a great mystery to be solved but I also learnt about birds and bird watching through the eyes of the adorable Twitch Even though Twitch was bullied he overcame it and the bullies even became his friends. Once I read this book I have now read all the series and from the very start I knew that each book would get better and better and they did. If you are looking for a different kind of mystery then I highly recommend Twitch and for this reason I am giving Twitch 4 stars
