STREAMLIGHT Sidewinder Safety Wand Glow In The Dark

My dad loved it. It goes well with his sidewinder - and this thing glows in the dark. While you are using it with the light to create a wand to be visible or direct/flag traffic at night, it also charges the glow in the dark plastic. This would give you a few more minutes of night visibility if your batteries ran out. It neatly snaps to the base of the original, full size streamlight sidewinder when not in use. Handy design.

This diffuser makes a soft glow rather than a harsh beam which is very usefull for fire watch in barracks and other places where a harsh beam would disturb people but some lithe is required for you to navigate. I have the light attached to my helmet and pull the diffuser off when I need more penetrating light.

Not much more I can add. It slips over the top and can be used to direct traffic or point things out. When not in use it can store under the clip, but then you can't mount the light on a helmet, so may not be practical.

Fits nice, glows nice and diffuses the light perfect.

This product is simply a plastic casing that goes over the head, which also happens to come off very easy (good thing it's glow in the dark or you'd lose pretty easy). It makes the light softer at the cost of brightness and distance, for some at a rate that is beyond acceptable. Also, the hole in the side reduces it's functionality as an indoors light meant to not bother others. For the pricing you could either just go with the Rescue version of the side winder if what you want is a diffuser that makes a softer and closer range light that won't bother others at night, or you could go with a nite ize 3 in 1 led flash stick at half the price if you are after a wand and save the batteries in your side winder for when a flashlight is needed.
