Constructed of high performance stainless steel, the unique blades have been treated by a proprietary process that creates a beautiful rain pattern in the knife blade. This pattern acts as both a design feature and a function. The raised pattern reduces drag and surface tension across the blade which helps in cutting and having food stick to the surface of the knife. The handles are designed to be the most comfortable and ergonomic, putting your hand into the most efficient position for cutting. The handles are constructed of g-10 material. Great set of knives
These knives come extremely sharp and stay sharp. The design makes them functional and easy to work with. They also look great. If they need to be sharpened, I have the Ken Onion sharpener (Work Sharp) to touch them up.

BAD PRODUCT at a HIGH PRICE
Bought a new place and wanted a PRIME knife set because I LOVE to cook. I hunted and hunted for the right knife set....and bought this set. 1st - unpacking the knife sharpener fell apart...YES fell apart...the handle in my hand the rod on the floor, the ring and other piece on the floor too. The blades are not sharp. Shoot I'd give this to a kid as a starter set. I decided to use them...grabbed an onion. Shoot, I had to push my way through it....as if I was shoving a dull pencil through it. Tried another knife on the onion....nope again. I said 'What is going on!!!?!' these are supposed to be good. I tried a tomato...it didn't slice it it MASHED it. Seriously these are the WORST knives I've ever used. Sending the entire set back. Very disappointed!

Great American Knives--Ken Onion Designed, USA Made
These are great commercial grade knives fit for professional use. They are made in the USA, which I like. They come extremely sharp, have the innovative, functional knife designs that have made Ken Onion famous and hold a great edge. The block, sharpener and scissors are just add ons made in China. Doe not judge the set based on those items.I like these knives so much that I have bought several of the smaller Cascade knife bundles (the 3 piece Cascade Essential Knife Set) as presents for other restaurant professionals to use as kitchen work horses--the ones that stay on the magnetic strip in the kitchen for the hard everyday work that make a successful commercial kitchen run. I cannot recommend these knives enough.
