Nice product after considering the many choices on Amazon
Out of the box, this appears to be a nice setup.Lets begin with the Chopping/Blending portion. 2 Chopping Blades and 2 Blending Blades may be used in any configuration (2 of the same style or one of each). The Chopping Blades (3 per unit) are extremely sharp. There are no Upper/Lower "deflection" arms which would help lift or push the food into the blade area therefore one may have to stop and get the food back towards the middle after a pull or two. Soft foods should be a cinch to chop but larger, more dense may require finer hand chopping before entering the bowl for the final touch. Blending (not used as of yet) appears as though it would work well. One end has a larger hole to help larger volume move through while the secondary, two hole side blends. One nice feature is there happens to be a removable divider between the two bowls. So if you are using one of the other "blades" e.g. shredding, grating, julienne, mandolin and want a large volume, just remove the divider and fill both sections. In addition, the top blade frame may be reversed so that if the divider is in place, you may use one "blade" in bowl one, flip the top, then fill the other bowl. Nice! There is a safety food holder which will help keep fingers away from the extremely sharp blades. This part also has a flange which will help with guidance while using it.The bowl has a rubber base which adheres to the table well. No slipping there. The Top/Spinning Attachment fits onto the bowl with a nice fit. The "stroke" of the cord when pulled is just over 1'. The mechanism seems to be similar to another "Swiss Made" product I have. Time and further testing will tell how well it delivers power without breaking. It also has drainage holes if it should get wet BUT it is not recommended to "dunk" this part into water. Cleaning should be done with damp towels immediately after use.Dishwasher is not recommended (per the manual) but it should clean easily since it does break down into individual parts. Rinsing should get the majority clean with final touch ups with a sponge (minus the top head, see above). Just mind the blades while washing!Like most kitchen products, I love these "many use" devices. My concerns with this and most others are about storage. Parts can end up scattered. I wish there were on board storage for the various parts so right after cleaning, I can place the whole unit away knowing the next time, I'll have the parts.

Amazing for chopping, slicing was mildly difficult
The main reason I purchased this product, the double 3-cup, was so I can finely-dice and slice onions. My first use was to dice a medium onion. I cut the onion into 12 pieces and after 20 pulls, it was finely diced. I was very happy, and this was the main reason I picked it over other choppers; I was able to get tiny onion pieces instead of chunks for my dish. The second use was to slice an onion using the Julienne blade. At first I used my hand, then switched to the safety handle. The safety handle doesn't do a good job of remaining in the food; it can hold the food well as you slide it over the blade, but when you try and pick up the food to reset, the holder pops right out. It got messy once I got down to the last remaining piece of onion. My biggest critique is that a better food-gripping handle is needed. However, I was able to slice the onion, though it probably took more effort than cutting with a knife.I'm happy with this purchase overall and would recommend the product.

I really like this so far and have used it quite regularly
I really like this so far and have used it quite regularly. It is great for quickly dicing up onions, garlic, peppers, etc. but it kind of sucks that there is no "spout" on the plastic base to pour liquid-based stuff... the shape is pretty awkward for pouring liquids so while the manual says it is good for blending soups etc. I would not recommend it for that. The blades are suuuuper sharp as other reviewers have mentioned-- I wiped a piece of onion off of one of the blades and I did not think I even touched the actual blade part...but later on noticed that a thin sliver of skin had been cut off my finger tip (it was so thin that it did not even bleed and just felt sensitive).

High quality and easy to use
Brieftons makes high quality products that are easy to use and easy to clean. I really like this food chopper - it's easy for me to make my salsa and quickly prepare salads, and it's so easy to convert it to the mandoline.slicer. The blades are always sharp and cut through foods easily. The only thing that would make this product perfect for me would be to have additional inserts that would allow me to slice fruits and vegetables at different thicknesses. I use a food dehydrator constantly, but some foods need to be sliced a little thicker. I would not hesitate to purchase additional blades for this item.

Handy and effective
When I ordered this my husband was pretty skeptical. We have all kinds of other chopping/slicing/food processing devices, and he wasn't at all convinced that this one would be any different or better. The first time he used it, however, he was shocked at how effective and handy it is. When I used it for the first time I agreed. I had debated whether to get the version with two chambers since it is bigger and bulkier than the 3 and 4 cup versions, but I'm glad I did. It is handy to be able to chop 2 different foods at once, or to be able to chop more of something. One side of the container holds about 1 small onion.A few pulls is all you need to get well-chopped veggies. The blades are sharp and so it doesn't take much force. My one piece of advice is to do a full pulls and pick up the container and shake it so that larger pieces will move within reach of the blades. You are still likely to end up with a couple of bigger pieces that you might end up putting back in or chopping by hand. Even so it's much less effort than chopping the whole thing by hand.I have not tried the slicing and grating features. I'll update the review after I've had a chance to do that.

Definitely recommend this Chopper! But don't expect it to last a long time.
As soon as I got it I had to try it out. I made some egg salad with it and it turned out great! Chops food as advertised, would definitely buy this again!(Update) Today I used it for the second time 2 chop some walnuts. One of the blades broke, and I can't seem to find a replacement. It's pretty light duty plastic, I wouldn't expect longevity out of this.
