Dr. Stern taught Fuller Theological Seminary’s course on Judaism and is an officer of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America now living inJerusalem. Being a Jewish person I have had a hard time dealing with the antisemitism and ignorance of Judaism in the N.T. - with Dr. Stern’s research and commentary it’s readable. Finally a translation from the Greek I can stomach and it makes sense in the light of the Hebrew Scriptures - the Tanach.Being an English speaking person all my life I am not familiar with ALL the Hebrew words included in this translation so I look them up in the glossary and enjoy how they add to the understanding.I am absolutely thrilled to find this Bible. Adding it to my Torah studies snd currently enjoying the Psalms. Non Jewish readers only familiar with translated into English names may find the Hebrew names confusing at first, but you can figure them out easily. This Bible is a beautiful translation to add to anyone’s Scripture study. With this Bible you can see Jews and Christians are truly one people. Buy it and learn! I bought this Bible after I bought the NIV First Century Bible. I wanted to dive deeper into the original and Hebrew translation. I have realized after reading this version why I've had trouble understanding the parables of Yeshua. It's because I was never taught the Tanakh in it's cultural and social context. The added explanations at the beginning of this Bible are worth the time and study. They make understanding the connection between the New Testament and the Old testament FINALLY!! The added dictionary and pronunciations in the back of the important Hebrew translation is invaluable and has given me the urge to learn Hebrew so I may understand more, and hopefully be able to go to the Holy Land. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring the Jewishness into this Christian. That we are one Church and remind me that Jesus was Jewish and never anything else. My faith has been recharged. I encourage you to buy this Bible. Even though I have probably10 other Bibles, I finally found the one that brought me to the point of wanting to go deeper and learn more about Yeshua in His time.

A great Bible for someone who is interested in a Jewish perspective on both testaments. It has a lengthy intro and explanation section. Written by a Messianic Jew who has also written a Jewish New Testament along with a commentary for the New Testament.

I love this translation of the Bible ..it gives extra insight into the Hebrew word meanings and lots of great study footnotes ..Very understandable and brings "LIFE" to the scriptures .... The Bible comes alive !!!

This translation is very readable but continues with the reverence that is more common in older translations. There’s additional insight that I haven’t seen in other commentaries. Also, the New Testament as seen from the perspective of practicing Jews of Jesus’s time was new for me. Definitely recommend this translation with commentary.

I appreciate the Hebrew twist this Bible puts on scriptures. It uses a lot of Hebrew proper names and offers Jewish information not found in other Bibles. And it includes a New Testament! There is a lot of cross-referencing that is made available. It is not a Jewish Bible in that it offers Hebrew and English language translations side by side.
