It's a wash!
If you are here then you should know what this is for, Nice wash, Has always worked well, it has a slight brown hue to it. I'm not sure what else needs to be said... Don't drink it! dunno why you would but hey, it seems to have kept you reading this far.

Awesome for adding depth and detail
I'm getting into painting 28mm metal miniatures and several websites recommended using Nuln Oil for shading after painting. They suggested getting the gloss version and then applying a matt varnish afterward. I did just that and the results were amazing. The oil seeped into the miniature's crevices and created a dynamic result. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to add that extra layer of detail and weathering to their miniature.

Nuln Oil is skill in a bottle - at a price
Something of a meme among Games Workshop enthusiasts, the reality is actually quite true to the reputation. Nuln Oil is essentially a very thin black acrylic black paint, which Citadel calls "Shade Paint". It's thinner than traditional painting inks and very easy to use; simply dab a decent-sized brush in and apply to whatever part of a model you want to get dark shading. Some hobbyists will simply douse their entire model in this stuff before going back to do layering and highlights, and this time-honoured technique has allowed all but the laziest wargaming enthusiasts to achieve decent finished results in a reasonable amount of time. The downside for Nuln Oil isn't its quality, quantity or functionality: it's the price. Apparently GW thinks Nuln Oil is made out of unicorn tears or something because they charge for it like it's that rare. It's a great product to be sure, but the cost is woefully out of proportion, and the bottle it comes in is seemingly custom designed to tip over, resulting in impressive messes and frustrating waste. This is especially galling given the price tag.My best takeaway from using Nuln Oil (and really, GW paints in general) is use them sparingly, look for decent alternatives, and get a paint pot holder (or blue tac) to attempt to prevent the inevitable spill.

great on small scale weapons
I have a few 1/12 scale weapons that I had repainted, this gives it the " oiled up " look to bring them to good realistic look!

I'm glossy!
It's very glossy, looks like oil slick when allowed to pool. Which is what I expected, 5 stars!

It is Nuln Oil but even better
Look, GW washes rock. It's silly expensive but there is nothing quite like them.If you'd told me there is a better version of Nuln Oil I would not have believed you but htis gloss version is the best thing I ever painted with.
