Worked flawlessly
I used these to polish my guitar and bass frets. Just a quick swipe across the whole surface of each fret starting with 1500 grit and going through each one up to 12000, after using blue painters tape to protect the fretboard. Probably took 20 minutes total and now my frets are incredibly smooth to the touch and beautifully shiny. Most notably the nickel frets on my old cheap $200 bass now look basically identical to the stainless steel frets on my $2500 instrument.

Fantastic for fret polishing
I don't know how long these will last but I was able to use them on an entire guitar neck's worth of frets with no apparent wear on them. These work extremely well for polishing frets. I used to use steel wool and it worked fairly well, but it was a mess and didn't result in anywhere near as fine a polish as these can produce. I only used maybe half of the grits, focusing on the lower ones and it still produced a near mirror finish. They also work surprisingly quickly, only needing maybe 30 seconds per fret per grit. I was done in a few hours with the best looking frets I've ever seen in my life.Highly recommended.

Good boards, inaccurate listing pictures
They're sanding sticks, they're smaller than a standard nail board which is good for models. Product was not as pictured, like other reviewers say, they don't always have the grit number printed on the board, but sharpies exist so no big deal.

Good product
I had a nasty scratch and a gouge on a high-quality stainless steel wristwatch bracelet and figured these sanding sticks would help with restoring the surface. They did amazingly well. Five minutes was all it took to smooth out the scratch and greatly reduce the gouge. The hard part was figuring out which coarseness of the sticks would best match the "grain" of the stainless. I sampled several of the sticks by applying them to a piece of scrap stainless to get an idea of how the results would look, compared them to the watch bracelet, and came up with a fair approximation. I'd probably have been more exact with younger eyes and more experience. In any case, the bracelet looks a lot better than before.

Fantastic!
I use these for Gunpla - Gundam plastic models and they do a pretty good job of helping remove the nub marks. I prefer these over sandpaper. They work so well I actually bought another set. The variety of grits is excellent; the coarser grits can really remove material, the middle grits are great for surface smoothing, and the ultra fine grit produces a good polish. Highly recommended.

Best finishing tool so far
As I said, so far. And you can't get any better. As far as my plastic models are concerned like 1:48 scale with panel lines the 1400 grit, yes it is best to mask off so as not to loose detail. But getting down to 6000 grit remove the mask tape and the 6000 grit to 12000 grit leaves it to a great polished finish. You just need to know what you are doing. Will buy again. And recommend to anybody.

Miniatures? Start> Here!
So, working with miniatures you really have to get the mould lines out. I started out with those diamond files and they're WAY too big and abrasive. I'll use them for other applications. If you want to clean up your minis, I suggest Games Workshop mould line remover AND these files. To roughest grit is1500, its the one that breaks the lines down and the 2400 (black) will smooth everything out, removing scratches from the 1500. You have many more higher grits to choose from...If you're trying to turn a metal miniature into a mirror, you have the grits to do so (not sure why you'd want to, just elaborating). So although I don't see my self using the finer grits, its still an amazing set of files and I'm not knocking a start due to MY limited application. If you have a scratched up wedding band that you want to make look new? These would for sure do the trick, along with any other jewelry. These would probably put a deadly razor-edge on a knife if you had good sharpening skills and depending on the blade material. So back to miniatures...get these before those metal diamond files.
