Perfect for shallow snorkeling
I took a chance and bought this for my trip to Mo’orea in French Polynesia. I stayed in an over water bungalow that had access to an incredible lagoon that’s bursting with underwater wildlife. This case was absolutely perfect for capturing that world.Admittedly, it’s a little clunky and hard to get Into, but once you have everything set up, it’s perfect.I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. To get set up, you unclamp the six clasps, releasing the top cover from from the base unit. From there, you insert your phone into place, using an adjustable clamp on the bottom; and spring loaded clamp on the side. Once you have your phone nice and snug, you put the cover back on, making sure the O-ring is in place, and reengage the six clamps. A few notes:1. Make sure your battery is fully charged. You’ll need lots of juice for two reasons: you have to go to your settings and set the phone’s auto lock to “never”, and you also have to have the video/camera app open and running before closing it up.2. You’ll also be running your screen at its brightest setting, which is a battery drain as well.I took a good hour to 90 minutes worth of video on one charge, no issues. The one thing I did notice, is that after the 90 minutes my phone was HOT. I assume it’s because it’s airtight and the heat has nowhere to go. So please be careful about overheating, I’d hate to see a phone ruined from that.3. The shutter button is a bit tricky, and only works when directly over the “volume up” button. It also has to have a snug fit, to apply the right amount of pressure to engage the picture/record button to work. Make sure you test it before you put the cover back on.As far as water proof, I didn’t have a single drop get into the case. My phone went in bone dry, and came out bone dry over several days and dozens of dives. At just $60 USD, it feels like a steal. I got absolutely incredible video and still shots, to the point where everyone I’ve show them to assumed I had some fancy underwater camera setup. When they find out it’s just an iPhone, they’re all amazed. To be fair, the deepest I took this was less than two meters (6 feet), so I can’t attest to how deep this will function. The other small con, is that you can’t really use the touch screen once it’s on and in place. I had some luck pulling it from the water and pressing firmly on the clear back case cover to change from 1.0x to 2.5x zoom.Overall this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on Amazon. If you’re gonna be doing some shallow dives or snorkeling; this case is an absolute must. You’ll be thrilled with the high quality results, and have awesome pics and videos to share when you get home!

Works great for shorter amounts of time
I used the second generation version to take snorkeling pictures in Belize with my iPhone 11 and it worked awesome! All of the pictures turned out great. The only problem is that the button stopped working after about an hour so I didn’t get any pictures from the last half hour of the trip. I’m assuming my phone shifted a little so it wasn’t lined up right. However, I think if you took your phone out and readjusted it after a while that could be avoided. Also, the wristband has started to come apart a bit so you can’t be too rough with it. Overall though, the quality was amazing for the price and I was really impressed.

Worked well 2 times then leaked..
Tried out the housing with my phone for the first time last week while snorkeling. It held up good. Same for the second time. Today however, the housing flooded almost as soon as I got in the water. I went back out, rinsed it again, checked the seal for debris and tried again but it again flooded. When I got home and tested it in the sink, there were instant bubbles coming out the bottom corner as well as the front screen. So the sealing is just garbage on the whole thing. Waste of money and very disappointed. Also still have error messages on my phone now from all the moisture exposure..

Quite well made, but the phone must stay on while in the case
Haven't tested it yet underwater, but am confident it'll be quite effective at keeping water out.Main issue is that it can actuate only one button on the phone, which can be used to trigger a photo. But the phone has to be on, and there's no way to turn it on inside the case. So you have to turn the phone on and disable the timed-off or screen saver before putting it into the case. I don't know how long the phone battery will last like this.

Outside button will not fit to take pictures with iPhone13 Pro Max
Sturdy, and keeps the water out. Was able to use the phone - but not leveraging the shutter button included in the case, only through the front screen of the device (like a normal use of the phone). There are much cheaper options for that. The case has a button to press which just will not line up properly with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Other phones maybe - not this one.Unfortunately Frontier Airlines lost luggage on the way back from Cancun, and still a week later dont have any idea if will see it again - else I would return this. As it stands - just here to get a receipt to get reimbursed for it.Otherwise the case is SOLID, it may work great for other phones... just not my experience

Buck Island Reef trip was successful!
Wasn't sure what to expect--- Not a professional photographer and just using my iPhone but this case exceeded expectations. There are 6 locking clamps on the sides which really hold the case together and a rubber ring on the inside that keeps the water out. I didn't have a single drop of water enter the case. I went to the Caribbean Islands and took a day trip to Buck Island-- I went down past 10 feet with no issues. I feel strongly that it would go much deeper. I was in the water for over an hour with the case and my phone was completely dry. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone. I used an iPhone 12 Pro and the case fit perfectly. There are a couple of adjustments that are easy to make to fit the phone to the case. Once the case is locked in place, all you have to do is open the camera app and use a button on the top of the case to take pictures or start taking video. The only downside I see is that it is a little difficult to switch from picture to video on your screen while in the water but I was able to do it after a little practice.
