Dollar Bill Origami Book: 30 Designs That Turn Money into Art

Clever designs, broad appeal, good quality overall
The Dollar Bill Origami Book is a welcome addition to the collection of dollar bill origami books. Janessa Munt is a respected money-folder in the origami community and shares some of her wonderful dollar bill designs in this book. The diagrams included range from beginning-level origami to more complex models that are more appropriate for advanced folders. While the appeal of this book spans across all origami skill levels, this also means that beginners will likely find some models too challenging, and experts will likely find some models easy or uninteresting. Many dollar bill adaptations of traditional models are presented, which are great for beginning folders, but which won't likely intrigue more advanced origamists.Though some space is spent rehashing traditional origami models, most of the book consists of original origami designs of Janessa's. Many models make clever use of the patterns on a dollar bill to make eyes or other features. Janessa is a clever designer, and the designs in general have fun and intuitive folding sequences. Many designs are quick to fold, and some are more challenging, like the mermaid and t-rex.The quality of the book is great. The paper is thick and good quality, and it is printed in full color. Each diagram features a full-page photo of the folded model. The diagrams are done by Marcio Noguchi, who is well-known in the origami community for creating high-quality diagrams. The diagrams are, with a few exceptions, clear and easy to follow.Overall, The Dollar Bill Origami Book offers a creative look at dollar bill folding and offers many diagrams and good quality for a fairly low price. If you are an origami enthusiast, a fan of Janessa Munt, or a beginning folder interested in folding money, this book would be great.

Several advanced-intermediate skill level models that have good details
This book is nice because it has some beginner, several intermediate, and a couple of advanced models. The models aren't so difficult as to require new bills. I am able to use crisp circulated bills. Tweezers are helpful. Most of the models are 3D animals. The harder ones have good details. My favorite is the tiny T-rex with his tiny arms.

A good way to give a gift
I’m giving my older grandchildren cash because they want cash. I fold it in interesting shapes to make it look like a gift I thought about it and them.

Not Really Beginner Friendly
Don’t get me wrong, I loved looking at the pictures, but the instructions and steps jumbled up in my mind brain and I got discouraged and didn’t try any of them. This book does include “fun facts” that I enjoyed.

I think it looks like a lot of fun
I think it looks like a lot of fun. I gave it to neighbor who is 87. He wanted to learn more than just shirt or ring he has been making. He found this too complicated, too many folds. I suggested he have grandson show him utube videos so he could see how each one is done, and then try again. I think younger people will have no problem.

This book is great! The designs are fun and the instructions are easy to follow along. I love folding The models for gifts for family and friends and I occasionally will fold a goat or a bull dog for a tip when I go out to eat. Can't wait for more designs.

This product not as advertised
This was a terrible disappointment to me. I bought this book on the strength of the rose fold, which was pictured, but the model isn't in the book - there's no rose at all. I felt the advertising was misleading, at best. Aside from that, the models included aren't bad and, I guess, for $12.00, it wasn't an altogether bad purchase. There are better books on the market, however, so I cannot recommend this to any prospective buyers.

Not for a novice
I bought this thinking it would be easier to follow along than the free instructions online. I was wrong. I would prefer an actual photo. Also you must be knowledgable of various folds. Reference is provided but difficult to follow and requires flipping back and forth.

Beautifully done.
This is a very attractive book on origami with interesting models. I bought the Kindle edition which is good but I'm thinking of getting the paperback for my origami book collection.
