This is the perfect tool for portable document scanning. I use mine daily to capture handwritten session notes into electronic storage formats for upload to our in-house software. I'm running it from a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and the IRIS software is pretty seamless and simple. It's small enough to fit in the SwissGear tablet bag I use without adding much in terms of weight or bulk, and the USB-powered connection means much simpler cabling requirements. Not the cheapest option on the market, but especially for the duplexing capability alone, it's worth every penny.

The scanner is a great performer. Fast, with amazing scan results. The scanner is well built and worth the money IMHO.The software can be difficult to use. The button shortcuts just don't really add a lot of advantage. I have set a couple of my defaults and tend to use it always like that, just because the software is not the most intuitive. I am disappointed that IrisScan doesn't see fit to give upgrades to the pro version of their software along with their pro scanner?!?!?!? I have heard a lot of people say the same thing.

Scan is not as good as a flat bed scanner, but it's OK for a portable. Some of the bundled software is useless but it's easy to blow it off.

We scanned thousands of receipts with this little scanner. I would highly recommend it for this purpose

Does not work with Apple computers
