Versatile mittens
I bought the Medium for these gloves because all the other gloves I wear are medium- wetsuit gloves/mittens and rubber gloves (I work in the life sciences and wear a M in latex gloves which fit perfect- no extra material or folds anywhere). I measured my hands and was at 8.5" which put me at the higher end for what Kinco recommends for medium. I think the gloves run large because there is plenty of room and I could probably wear a small. The mittens came with 2x packs of NikWax. I put one on immediately. If you haven't used NikWax before, it's kind of smelly. It also made the gloves a bit sticky/tacky but the material didn't come off all. I used the second pouch and only spread it on the back of the mittens to bolster the waterproofing on the side that will likely see more water/snow.I've used the mittens snowblowing this past week and they are awesome. Temps between 18-30 degrees and my hands have stayed very comfortable. I also wore them walking to work (~1 mile) when the temps were in the low 20s and my hands were nice and warm. Last, I wore them on a 9 mile run when it was ~20 degrees out. My hands were very comfortable for the first 4 miles or so but then got a bit too hot. I had to take the mittens off for ~30 seconds to a minute for them to cool back down. Despite this, the gloves never got damp or uncomfortable. So far I love these mittens. I may pick up a pair of the gloves and risk the wrath of my wife in doing so. It'll be worth it!

HOT
I've work these gloves on the mountain several times in temps between -8 and 35 over the last 6 months. They're actually so hot I had to take them off between run on the top end of this range. At -8, one of my hands got a little cold while storming down a run at 40 mph, but warmed up quickly as soon as I stopped. Great quality, great price, completely waterproof with some wax (provided), and tough as nails. They come as yellow raw leather so if you don't like the color it would be easy to use some stain, then apply the waterproofing wax on top.

Warm, comfortable, and durable
These mittens are warm, comfortable, and durable. They come with a waterproofing lather to rub on before you wear them which is nice. My only issue with them is that they have a glove liner inside (which I wasn't expecting) and it can't be removed. On really cold days, or days when my hands are already cold, they don't keep my fingers warm since they can't touch each other and maximize heat exchange.

Great work mittens for PNW ski patrol
First of all, make sure you wax these mittens if you plan to be in the wet or snow - I'm wondering if some of the complaints I see missed that step as a good wax will keep your hands a lot warmer. These mittens get used for ski patrol work in the PNW near Seattle where it usually doesn't get below 0 degrees so I can't really speak to those complaining about the warmth in sub-zero temps but for setting up rope lines all morning in dumping snow and/or rain they are the warmest durable work mittens I have found. The glove-like liner is actually very useful when doing work that requires manipulating your hands as it keeps the mitt from bunching around. Also, the inner liner is somewhat permeable and is separate from the leather outer so you do get a lot of the mitten advantage in warmth though maybe not as much as otherwise. Again, I can't speak to the really cold climates but for for skiing and doing ski patrol work in the PNW this (waxed!) mitt has been amazing.

Very warm and soft
The insides are a very soft fleece. These gloves are very warm. I live in Maine and ski everyday at Sugarloaf which is known for it's strong winds and rather cold temperatures. My fingers only got cold on the coldest of days when it was below 0 degrees Farenheit. The NixWax works very well and darkens the gloves. I skied in the rain and my hands remained dry... the rest of me didn't. These are awesome gloves and the affordable price makes them even better.

Best. Deal
Forget the other gloves on the market, these are what you need. They are warm. They are tough.Yes, they are kind of an ugly color, but when you are skiing, they say: "I'm a legit local. I care more about performance than fashion."Yes, they are stiff when you first get them. But if you put the wax on them and maybe some mineral oil or another oil-based water proofer, they soften up and conform to the shape of your hand. Best. Deal. Going.

Best Ski Mittens Available
We saw other's using these Kinco mittens for skiing so we thought we'd try them. They are fingered inside and are very comfortable and warm and waterproof. Great product.

Last pair of gloves you ever need
These are hands down the best gloves I have ever had. I bought a pair 2 years ago and absolutely love them. I use them primarily for snowboarding, where I am grabbing ropes that are moving 5 mph. They have held up better than any glove I have own in the best. I would where them for any outdoor work.Pro tip: When applying the bees wax focus on the seams as that is where water is likely to come in.
